EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Mount & Chilwell - 10 days self isolation?

Surely they can take a test everyday and, if negative, only need to self-isolate for 5 days.

Gove took this option when he got too close to a Chelsea fan / player.

I thought the same and I know that is the rule.
So in theory they could OK tomorrow. I think this has been mis-reported.

    In reply to Peter Sherwood:

Probably the media just going after the dramatic headline. They'll miss the Czech game but hopefully they're allowed to take training tomorrow after another negative test.

What happened to the Scottish players that hugged Billy ‘player of the tournament’ Gilmour?

Not close contact for more than 20 minutes apparently. Mount and Chilwell were seen chatting to Gilmore in the tunnel for 20mins+

Ridiculous rules but it’s the second time Chilwell has broke them..

    In reply to Gary Smith:

Lets be honest I'm sure Gilmour's teammates have been in close contact with him for a lot longer than 20 minutes in recent days.

Having said that I know they're clubmates but they shouldn't be fraternising with the enemy during a tournament.
I don't care how close friends they are.

    In reply to Peter John-Baptiste:

It’s clear that the decision on Scotland was because they would have had to postpone/cancel the match with so many REAL close contacts. As usual, different rules for different people which seems to be happening a lot at the moment (G7, UEFA hangers on, sports people in general).
