World Cup: payment update

Posted by Team England at 13:26 on Wednesday 21 February 2018

FIFA began taking payments for World Cup tickets on Tuesday 20th February. We strongly advise supporters to remain patient whilst this process is undertaken as not all payments will be completed at the same time.

Until FIFA have completed the payment process and sent confirmation emails, the England Supporters Travel Club are unable to advise members on the outcome of their application. We would urge all Travel Club members to await confirmation from FIFA that their application has been completed before contacting the England Supporters Travel Club.

Belgium Match

Based on the applications submitted to FIFA, only the Belgium match was oversubscribed - meaning there were more applications than there were tickets. For those members who are confused about fans on a low level of caps being allocated a ticket, please be aware that a ballot is undertaken for matches that are oversubscribed. 70% of the tickets were allocated to members who applied with the highest level of caps (providing there were no issues with payments or duplicate applications) and the remaining tickets were balloted in accordance with the membership rules.

Application process

For those members on a high caps level who are concerned that they have not been allocated a ticket for the Belgium match, we would like to remind you of a previous communication that was sent to all members detailing how to apply for tickets:

There were 3 ways to apply for an England match ticket on the FIFA website:

1 Supporter Tickets

2 Individual Match Tickets

3 Venue Specific Match Tickets

Travel Club members should only have applied through the first route – Supporter Tickets – as this is the allocation provided to The FA for Travel Club members and is where you were required to enter your fan number. If you applied for an England ticket under options 2 or 3 and you were allocated tickets, please be aware that this is not our allocation and we will not be able to move you. If you applied under options 2 or 3 and were unsuccessful, then again this allocation process has not been managed by The FA and we are unable to assist further.

If you have applied through the correct route for England specific tickets, the ticket information will be displayed as shown in the below example. If you have applied through options 2 or 3, the ticket information will read slightly differently.

The process isn’t as transparent as it was for South Africa and previous Euro’s!

EnglandFans have a list having done the calculations and ballot to have informed FIFA yet won’t tell fans if they’re successful or not,FIFA send out what appears to be a generic email to some fans saying they may have money taken from their account, then I’m reading on the forum some fans have/haven’t received that email and have/haven’t had Belgian ticket charged to their account!

I’m not here to bash either authority, but this does somewhat leave a lot to be desired!

Not sure what's going on. I'm still pending. Shouldn't be beyond the wit of a major multinational organisation to tell people whether they have tickets 3 weeks after the close date. Given their history perish the thought anyone would think someone checking what price they could get from the touts before releasing what's left.....
