World Cup: check your application!

Posted by Team England at 12:32 on Tuesday 23 January 2018

We have been advised that some Travel Club members may have inadvertently selected the wrong ticket type when applying for England matches to the World Cup.

There are 3 ways to apply for an England match ticket 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ on the FIFA website:

1. Supporter Tickets

2. Individual Match Tickets

3. Venue Specific Tickets

Please note that members of the Travel Club should only be applying through the 1st route - Supporter Tickets. This is the allocation provided to The FA for Travel Club members. Should you apply for an England ticket through either option 2. Individual Match Tickets or 3. Venue Specific Tickets, be aware that this is not our allocation and we will have no control over the ballot process for these tickets.

To be clear, If you were not prompted to enter your fan number at any point during your ticket selection process, please review your application and select the 'Supporter Tickets' option to ensure. The easiest way to remove your ticket selection is to click on the bin icon for the match(es) you want to edit on the 'My Requests' page of the FIFA website:

Deleting the entire match will enable you to go back to the 'Supporters Tickets' drop-down and add back in the England match you want, together with the required number of tickets. When you proceed to the 'Checkout' page you will then be required to assign the Travel Club details of your group, together with their fan numbers, to each ticket. Once you have confirmed all these details, you will then reach a summary page where you can see your applications in full and check that all the details are correct.

Please be aware that The England Supporters Club has no access to FIFA's website so we are unable to check entire applications on members' behalf.

Deadline reminder

Travel Club members are reminded that the final deadline for submitting applications for the World Cup is 9am Wednesday 31 January. After this date, no further changes can be made to your application and the information submitted is final. We also strongly advise all Travel Club members ensure the contact details on their applications are correct before submitting to FIFA.

Category information

A key point to note is that we have enough category 3 ticket for all matches at the World Cup (except for the Belgium game) to meet the demand from members. So, if your preference is a category 3 please amend your application to suit this. For full details regarding the category split for England games, please read here.

Will be interesting to see if this ends up changing the cap level guidance for games/categories, if a lot of people have stuffed up their applications!

With this statement does that mean the FA already have the figures so far for how many people have applied for each match and Category ??????????????

You could at least tell us how to check it. Or only tell those who have applied incorrectly.

Can you apply for England matches under "Supporter Tickets" and other non-England matches under "Individual Match Tickets" on the same single application ??

You just need to enter your fan number on the first screen when you apply for

Tickets (there is a drop down menu of about 4 countries). Then you follow the instructions. You’ll know whether you’ve done it right if you only have a list of England games + R16, QF, SF, 3P or Final. If you have a list of all the games, you’ve done it wrong. That’s the way I see it.

This might help for those that applied in groups-

If you have completed the application correctly then on the summary page - which shows your payment details and lists everyone in  your group, also provides your application ID which you need for the FAN ID application later (which gets you into Russia, instead of a visa) At the bottom it actually shown your guests' Englandfans membership no. under their name. As the lead applicant you couldn't apply for theirs if you hadn't already completed your details first.

I applied in the week before deadline day and was directed to the FIFA website, I clicked Supporters tickets and was asked to input Fan ID, I assumed this was my England Supporters Club number (Note The Russian Federation also call the visa waiver a Fan ID!!). I was only shown England games so assume all is good, received confirmation email today but its not clear if its through England Supporters Club and therefore if I am in the cap Ballot....HELP
