UEFA EURO 2020
I put my application in for all the lower category games including fans 1st for semi and final,
I have just had last minute nerves and logged back in and ticked the upgrade box.
2 questions please.
1) with 40 caps do I really need to worry about upgrading?
2)any idea if you will only be upgraded if you caps are too low for that category?
Only asking this as when applying for World Cup tickets a friend ticked he was happy to upgrade and I didn’t, we had the same amount of caps , I got the cheaper ticket he got upgraded.

Chris MarshAnyone know how it works if you are in a group with different caps levels. So if a top capper applies for CAT 3 but someone in the group is only on 30 caps and doesn't have enough for a CAT 3 ticket. Do we all get bumped to CAT 2?
My understanding is that assuming the member with 30 caps has enough for cat 2s you'll both get cat 2s (i.e. the group remains a group).

Tim PowellHas this been confirmed anywhere because I tried to persuade a mate who is only on 8 caps to apply separately from our group that contains 40+ cappers fearing he might not get anything but he said he'd take his chance as I'd requested Cat 3/Fan First prepared to go up one Cat. However, given my mate on 42 caps and myself on 44 should, for example, be guaranteed a 95 Euro Fans First Final ticket, are you saying that if the low capper was lucky and could secure a Cat 3, because I said we'd be prepared to take one, we'd all be bumped up from our guaranteed 95 Euro tickets to a 295 Euro ticket?
Am afraid the ESTC were pretty clear in the FAQ that similar capped grouped members should apply together and those that weren't should apply in separate groups. Then there could be the chance of linking groups by group id if they were successful on similar cats.
It's been covered quite a bit on here that the feeling was that successful group members would be kept in the same cat - otherwise being in a group is pointless (for successful applicants).
Brace yourself (or whoever is the lead applicant) for January - but in meantime forget it - there's nothing to be done.
Depending on the game(s) your 8 capper mate may not be successful anyway so you'll possibly stay in the cheaper cat for those game(s) anyway.
Sounds as if the 8 capper will be buying the other group members a beer or two in the summer (when payment will be less of a memory!).
Good luck anyway Tim
