Category splits update for Euro 2016

Category splits update for Euro 2016

Posted by Team England at 13:17 on Wednesday 13 January 2016

We are pleased to advise that we have received some information regarding the category split for each of our Euro 2016 group matches.

We have not been provided with exact capacity by category, and are now unlikely to receive this before the application deadline on the 18th January, but we can provide some useful information regarding the category split.

For all three matches, the largest allocations are in category 3 with approximately 50% of tickets per match in this category. This is followed by category 2 which has the next largest allocation. Both categories 1 and 4 have the smallest allocations. We would recommend that members apply for either category 2 or 3 in the first instance and then tick the box to accept a ticket in an adjacent category. This will give you the best chance of ensuring that you can access a ticket.

I am on 37 Caps and therefore well within the 70% allocation for every match.  I have applied for Category 4 tickets all the way to the Final, but ticked the 'Accept another Category' box.

FA, am I guaranteed a ticket?

Why can't it just be designed so everyone who has the right cap for tickets will get one

So uefa decide they can't provide specific CAT ticket numbers for each game until after the ticketing deadline. It's Seems like a good way for uefa to make good money for loyal fans who are desparte to go to France this summer? Fans end up paying more for tickets than they should do.

FA you should make a stand...

    Hang on a minute?!!

You give this info now on the 13th Jan? 5 days before the deadline?

Do you not think that most people would have applied already? So actually this is a pointless bit of information!

You also reccomended that by the 11th Jan we should have it all sorted to give both yourselves and FA time to sort applications out soooo your 2 days late on that too..

There has been no clarification on this since the whole process started and it's actually embarrassing can we just not have a black and white answer?

That's not the FA's fault though, it's UEFA's / France Organising committee's horrendous organisation of this tournament so far. At least the FA have been badgering them for this information, and have got something in time to modify people's application's if needed, which is more than any of the other FA website's i've been looking on to try and find information have managed.

UEFA state on their website that 250k category 4 tickets are available in the group and round of 16 matches. There are 2.1m seats at these matches so approximately 12% of tickets at cat 4.

Along with this latest info that approx. 50% of tickets are category 3, we should expect to get at least 1860 cat 3/4 tickets in smallest stadium, so anyone over 32/33 caps should be fine.

I also assume that a category 4 seat at a stadium in the group stage would also be category 4 for the later stages?

On 32 caps, if i don't get tickets due to this farce then the FA can kiss goodbye to my next £75

So.... my question.... what takes priority, number of Caps or Category applied for?

For example, if I apply for Cat 4 on 33 caps, but there aren't enough Cat 4 tickets for me, do I then get first dibs on Cat 3 tickets before those on less Caps than me but selected Cat 3 as their first choice?

Or does everyone who applied for Cat 3 get them and I only get a ticket if any left over?

Shambolic organisation of showpiece event, how many seats in a stadium? How many allocated to each team playing?  How many seats designated per category? That leaves a number, but am I a being simplistic?

How many going to the football family? sorry parasites who will necking expensive wine, getting free rooms in the best hotels, chauffeur driven pick ups from airports off the back of us fans making their companies thousands.

No fans, no atmosphere, no tournament.

UEFA and its member nations are causing the issue for the thousands of fans who have spent thousands of pounds to attend qualifiers and finals

We deserve better from the simpletons who run European and World football.

And we still haven't got any certainty about getting a ticket this close to the tournament.

    Show us some respect.

    Rant over!

Daniel why don't you just change your application. You have got till Monday to do it. I'm sure it won't take that long. Every tournament the same issues come up. Never been a problem. Just put your application in and stop panicking.

I'd like to see no categories for Travel members, just a reasonable section priced up 35-100€ per category. No guesswork, no need to click buttons committing to unknown prices, no confusion, you either have enough caps or you don't. Quick and simple.

Why can't this be the system in place???

Don't shoot the messengers. UEFA decided on this, not our own FA.

In the past they have been good at ensuring the High Cappers were 'rewarded' by being able to more or less choose the price of tickets they wanted at the Tournaments.

UEFA seem to be the stumbling block here, not our people.
