UEFA Euro 2016

The UEFA EURO 2016 tournament will start on 10th June and finish with the Final on 10th July 2016. The tournament, hosted by France, will include 24 teams who are currently qualifying for the tournament.

Please read the below information which gives you our guide to our first fixture, England v Russia in Marseille.

Marseille
Population: 860,363

Marseille is visited by more than five million people every year. Dubbed ‘2016’s coolest destination’ by the press, France’s oldest city has established a reputation as a dynamic and outward-looking metropolis.

UEFA have provided information to us for each host city – and with England v Russia first up for England’s EURO 2016 campaign, Marseille is our new feature.

Security
Please visit the governments fans safety initiative Be on the Ball for all security and travel advice which can be found here.

Gates open
If you are a ticket holder, you will be able to access the stadium 6pm French time, please arrive early as long queues are expected due to extra security checks.

Fan Zone
Each host city has committed to providing a Fan Zone where supporters are able to gather before each match for free. The size and scope vary from city to city but the Marseille Fan Zone boasts a capacity of 80,000 – as many people as the Stade de France can. Located by the seafront at the Plages du Prado, all 45 matches at the tournament will be broadcast on its big screen. Previous ticket information

Members of the England Supporters Travel Club will be able to apply for tickets through The FA after the UEFA 2016 Draw on 12 December 2015.

If demand for tickets exceeds The FA’s allocation for a particular game, it will be necessary to conduct a ballot of the England Supporters Travel Club of members who have attended at least one match since September 2014 and before the end of November 2015. See below for how tickets are allocated. If you are not yet a member of the England Supporters Travel Club, there is still time to upgrade and attend an England game before the application process begins. Click here to upgrade.

Current members of the England Supporters Club (free membership) can also upgrade their membership to join the Travel Club, and will be eligible to apply for tickets via The FA, subject to the conditions outlined on this page. Click here to sign in and upgrade.

England Caps

Members of The England Supporters Club earn "caps" for attending England home games, with two caps awarded for each home game attended. Members of the England Supporters Travel Club are also awarded two caps for each away game they attend. You can view the caps table by logging into your account, going to our home page and clicking the caps table on the right hand side of the page. All England Supporters Club members will be able to see their position on this table.

How tournament tickets are allocated via the England Supporters Travel Club

Should demand for tickets exceeds The FA’s allocation for a particular game, it will be necessary to conduct a ballot using the caps system.

The following process is then applied to determine the successful applicants:
• 70% of the ticket allocation for each England game will be offered to the Travel Club members with the highest number of caps
• 20% will be balloted to Travel Club members who have missed out on the 70% allocation. However, the member’s eligible for this ballot will be limited to those who have attended at least two away games and four home games within the 2014-2016 membership period.
• 10% will be balloted to all Travel Club members who missed out in the 70% allocation and the 20% ballot.*

*In the event of the members’ ticket allocation being over-subscribed, no tickets will be allocated to England Supporters Travel Club members who have not attended a single match (home or away) in the 2014-2016 membership period.

If you have applied for tickets via UEFA, within their first phase and are subsequently successful, you will not be able to apply for the same England matches through the England Supporters Travel Club application process.

If an England Supporters Travel Club member obtains tickets during the current phase of UEFA’s general sale and after the draw in December discover that the allocated tickets fall on the same day as an England group match they will still be able to apply for the England match via The FA’s allocation.  However, they will be required to sell the original ticket via the Ticket Resale Platform which will be open from  March/April next year.  If they fail to sell the other ticket then they will not be issued the England ticket to ensure that they cannot have two tickets for matches taking place on the same day.  Please note that the Ticket Resale Platform will not be available to tickets bought through The FA as these are strictly non-transferable.

If an England Supporters Travel Club member obtains a knock out stage ticket via the first phase of UEFA’s general sale then it will not be known at the time of The FA’s application phase as to whether the match will be an England match (should England progress).

The same applies with this scenario whereby you will still be able to apply for these tickets through The FA but the original ticket will have to be relinquished before the England ticket can be issued. This is subject to UEFA running the Ticket Resale Platform throughout the tournament which they have still to confirm.

Please note that this will only be an issue with the Round of 16 matches where more than one match is played on the same day. For the Quarter-Finals and beyond there is only ever one match taking place on each day. Therefore, if you are allocated tickets for any of the Quarter Final matches and beyond through the current general sales phase and an England match happens to fall on the same day then the England ticket will automatically be cancelled as you will already have a ticket for the same match.

Upgrading to the England Supporters Travel Club

If you are not a member of the England Supporters Travel Club, there is still time to upgrade before the application process begins. Should demand for tickets exceeds The FA’s allocation for a particular game, members must have attended at least one match before the end of November 2015. From past experience we have found that members have a much better chance of applying for and obtaining tickets via the England Supporters Travel Club than through UEFA. The membership fee for the England Supporters Travel Club is £75 for adult members, and £45 for juniors. Click here to upgrade.
