England v Belgium caps cut-off

England v Belgium caps cut-off

Posted by Team England at 15:21 on Friday 23 February 2018

The England Supporters Travel Club can confirm that the caps cut-off point needed to be guaranteed a ticket for the England v Belgium game at the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia was 44 Caps.  All those below this caps total from the 2779 members that applied would have been entered into the ballot for the remaining tickets.

Having asked the question to FIFA we were also able to reallocate a number of tickets from the Football Community allocation.  We were able to make an additional 200 Category 1, 20 Category 2 and 20 Category 3 tickets available to supporters for this match, so the final ticket allocation for this match was as follows:

Cat 1 - 300

Cat 2 - 350

Cat 3 - 1009

Members on a caps level higher than 44 who were unsuccessful with a Belgium ticket are advised to double check their confirmation email from FIFA before phoning or emailing The England Supporters Travel Club.

Members who applied via the correct ‘Supporter’ route will see the match labelled ‘England Group Match’ as follows:

England Group Match | - Match 45 – England v Belgium – Kaliningrad

Members who applied via ‘Individual Match Ticket’ or the ‘Venue Specific’ route will see the match labelled:

Match 45 – England v Belgium – Kaliningrad

If you applied for an England ticket via the incorrect route please be aware that this allocation process has not been managed by The FA. For more information, please visit our previous news story here.

We will of course continue to lobby FIFA for additional tickets to this fixture, and should we receive any further tickets we will provide an update to members via this website.

Extremely disappointing. Got 25 Caps, applied for Cat 2 ticket as per ESTC instruction's. Now it looks like I have been unsuccessful with my application and that other members with far less caps or new joiners to the club have got a ticket. What a joke.

How fans can only be allocated 1,659 tickets for a World Cup match is astonishing

I’m only on 18 caps and one of my mates is about 38 caps, looks like we’re unsuccessful yet one of our other mates has zero caps and has got one, complete fucking joke.

    @ Jonathan Williams

Are you absolutely sure your other mate has zero caps ? What you have described is contrary to the rules of the England Supporters Travel Club. In particular, rule 6.3 refers to tickets for World Cup matches and says :-

In the event of the Members ticket allocation being over-subscribed, no tickets will be allocated to Members who have not attended a single match (home or away) in the 2016-2018 membership period.

Some people don't seem to understand what a ballot is. People on lower caps than you can be allocated a ticket - that's how a ballot works. No point complaining if you are on 25 caps and didn't get a ticket - you didn't do enough in the campaign to get into the 70%, so now have to take your chances. We've all been there in the early days of our memberships!

I’m a top capper on 69 caps and didn’t get a Belgium ticket. Something must be wrong here.

An extra 140 tickets allocated? What happened to the FA only taking 300 of their 700 family allocation and giving the 400 back to the fans?

"we anticipate only using on average 300 tickets per match. We have requested to FIFA that the remaining 400 tickets per match be added to the England supporter’s allocation"

So the 300 "FA Family" for this game suddenly became 460? So if the professional players and staff associated with the first team is about 50 people, they will receive 9 tickets each?
