Survey on England home end

Posted by Team England at 16:54 on Thursday 26 February 2015

We’re currently in the process of sending out a survey to gain fans’ ideas and opinions on enhancing the England Home End experience at Wembley.

The Home End is on Level 1 of the stadium, between blocks 108-115 inclusive.

The aim of the survey is to ensure any enhancements put in place are in line with fans’ wishes – and we’re hoping lots of ideas will be generated by the survey.

In line with normal research practices, we have randomly selected a proportion of England Supporters Club (including Travel Club) members to receive the survey – all of whom have been to recent matches at Wembley, whether in the home end or not.

So if you do receive a survey, please put on your creative hat – we’d love to hear back from you.

Agree with all the comments. Safe standing would create a such better atmosphere.

England always attack the 'England Home End' in the first half. I always used to sit in the opposite end so that we attacked our end second half but they changed that to the family end. My only wish is whatever is deemed the home end is attacked second half. It's extremely common in league football that the home team attacks it's traditional end second half.

This issue has been discussed for years on the forum. If you really do want to improve the atmosphere at Wembley, here are some thoughts:

    - Safe standing.

    - No away supporters allowed in that specific section of the stadium (please refer to matches such as France, Ghana, Poland or even Switzerland where away section should have been opened to general public and/or unrestricted rather than let expats sit in 'home end').

    - Cheapest tickets allocated to this end

    - Home end - possibly - dedicated to Travel club members.

    - Ban the band or relocate them to the so-called 'family end'.

    - Revert the location of the 'Home end' to the West Side of the stadium.

    - Ensure - when possible - that England warms up in front of 'Home End' and attacks this end second half.

There's probably a few more but it is common sense really.

    - Either change the home end back to where it used to be, or for England to kick the other way! Not happy at all about us kicking towards the home end in the first half, it's not right.

    - Flags - To get a flag into the ground the 'size' required is tiny. Sure they should be wanting flags in the ground, not the other way around?

Safe standing area would. That would be organic. Anything else you could try would be forced & wouldn't work.

Swap the home end to the other end as that is easier for the high street and the pubs instead of walking all the way around the stadium, rows 31-44 of the middle to blocks as standing. sell the seats as restricted view so people who end up there and want to sit can't moan.

Let's innovate for a change, dated standing.

Failing that how about discount for travel club members in the 'home end' to encourage more members to actually attend. Or move matches around the country and play at Saturday 3pm!

Either reverse the "Home End"t back to where we were before or get England to kick the other way round! Why the home end was swapped is beyond me... then at least a good atmosphere attacking home end in second half as is tradtional in every ground in the country... obviously in an ideal world safe standing too... but if not then a repeat of Poland at home when the stewards let us stand for the entire game anyway! Other than that prices for Members that match how much it costs for an adult non Member in the family end provided they bring a child in similar seats...
