Scotland ticket update

Posted by Team England at 11:25 on Thursday 30 October 2014

Scotland v England
Tuesday 18 November 2014
Celtic Park, Glasgow
Kick off 8pm

We can now confirm that 4800 tickets have been sold for our trip to Celtic Park on 18 November.

In conjunction with our ongoing security procedures for away fixtures we would like to inform members that this match is 100% ticket collection. Tickets can be collected in Glasgow on the evening of Monday 17 November or all day on Tuesday 18 November (match day).

Members who have selected to have their tickets posted out to them will receive a refund for the postage fee paid within the next 14 days.

On both days (17 & 18 November) match tickets can be collected from FA representatives who will be located in a central location of Glasgow city centre. A temporary ticket office will also be set up at Celtic Park for members who wish to collect their tickets 2 hours prior to kick off. We expect to be able to communicate the exact location and opening times of the ticket collection points next week.

If you are part of a group, each member must collect in person. It is not possible for another member to collect your ticket on your behalf.

Members who are running late or unable to collect tickets on either day or before kick-off at Celtic Park are welcome to call the England Supporters Travel Club mobile (07970 146250) to arrange to meet FA representatives outside the ground upon arrival.

Any member wishing to cancel their tickets for this game has until 5pm on Monday 3 November to inform us and receive a refund. Please email all cancellations to englandsupportersclub@TheFA.com

Glasgow is used to dealing with one of the most hostile football games in the world. Not only do roughly 7000 away fans  get to Ibrox or parkhead before each game without any trouble but on the whole Glasgow police keep the peace across a large city .When Scotland have visited London in their thousands from 77 and before and about 20k last year , no restrictions they could sing their anti English songs , spout their racism, sexism and banter with no restrictions

This decision is ridiculous and needs challenging, within the UK which Scotland  voted to be part of

This is a truly dreadful decision. You would think we would be entitled to a fuller explanation than "In conjunction with our ongoing security procedures for away fixtures we would like to inform members that this match is 100% ticket collection". How come we are being told that now when people have already made their arrangements? Were there no "ongoing security" issues before? If they are worried about touting/cap cheating/people with banning orders getting tickets, is it really right to cause a problem (a very big problem for some people) for thousands of law abiding football supporters in order to deal with that minority?

I watched England beat Scotland in the last friendly on TV in a Public House in a small town in the highlands.

I wore my England shirt. There was around 40+ Scots supporters and just 3 English supporters.

    The atmosphere was "lively".

After the Scottish Independence vote looking a bit dodgy (poor Scots got conned by dodgy promises by crooked politicians) I would expect the atmosphere for this game to be even livelier!

My main concern would be lack of protection for fans collecting their tickets.

After all this will be policed by Scottish Police.

    Seems like a mess.

I joined this "club" in order to be able to buy tickets.

It will be interesting to see the experience of the "FA representatives" who might feel more than a little vulnerable.

They show the film "Braveheart" on a regular basis.

Just remember that it is all just banter.

Will it be ok to hang my Ulster flag up in the stadium? If not can the FA make sure no Irish tricolours are flown as it hurts my feelings.

Oh yes and the ticket collection rules here are a shambles for this game. You deserve the stick you are going to get on the day over this decision!

Yet another example of the FA not giving a *** about fans. When are these morons going to take their heads out their arses and start showing some respect to real "security" cleared fans. Once again they abuse the passion and loyalty of their own fans which is already waning due to their incompetence, it's time to put England fans first before it is too late!!
