EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Passing a ticket on Semi (hopefully)

Clearly still some ifs involved. One of our group can't attend the possible semi final due to work commitments, if successful with tickets through the supporters club can this be transferred to someone outside of the supporters club or would this affect his chances of then getting a final ticket should we get there?

If your friend cannot attend the semi-final then don't buy the ticket. Leave it in the pool to be reallocated to another ESTC member.

The UEFA ticketing T&Cs say that a ticket can only be transferred to a guest named on the application. It's fairly apparent that they do nothing to police or enforce this rule.

The FA say that any ticket allocated via the ESTC allocation is for the named member who received the access code and may not be transferred, even to another ESTC member. If they become aware of any instance where a ticket has been transferred then they may suspend that person's membership.

All transfers are carried out through the mobile phone app and blockchain technology keeps a record of all transfers. Whether these are analysed for illegitimate transfers is an open question.

Thanks David. Missed a key word off. He's trying to change work commitments so worst case scenario would have been having the ticket purchased then unable to get out of work then not wanting to waste the ticket.

If you buy the ticket then someone tests positive on their LFT for instance, surely if there's an option to transfer to another person then that's within the T&C's from UEFA and that's perfectly reasonable to do so? The transfers are to an email address, there isn't anyway of checking that the person arriving at the match with the ticket on their phone is the same person that had the access code from the FA. There's no rule that the emails have to match and an email address doesn't identify who a person is.

There is I'm afraid, the access code provided for the ticket application should directly match back to the FAs email record. It would be an easy thing to check with a computer program.
