EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Rome Qtr final

I know I am getting ahead of myself but....

I have tickets for Rome through UEFA sale, I am sure many of us have.

Does anyone think we have any chance of actually getting there ? (5 days quarantine when landing and 10/5 days when home). I cannot see a bubble flight like the CL final, although that would be perfect.

Not sure what options we have other than desperately trying to find a buyer in Rome for them!

Depends what the clown announces (by next Monday I think), I'm not risking it as things stand.

There were no bubble flights for Champions League final. Portugal was on the green list so you could go but still needed two PCR tests, one to get in Portugal and one two days after you got back, and also a lateral flow test to get back in the UK. Can’t use NHS for these so best part of £200.

Could someone who has been vaccinated twice and over 14 days ago, go to the Rome match, do we think?

    As it stands, no.
Rome government require all UK residents to quarantine for 5 days regardless of vaccination status.

Also have two tickets for this game but looks unlikely they will be able to be used at present :(

2 jabs will get you into France then train to rome with no border checks straight into ground.

But then don't you miss the semi if we make it due to quarantine on your return?

Yes exactly, you would have to quarantine when coming back (unless that is relaxed later on today).

    In reply to Doug Fenner:

Yeah unless rules are relaxed today I still expect there to be a 5-10 day isolation period after return. This starts the day after you arrive back in the uk and even if you travelled back directly after the quarter final game it would STILL be too late to make any potential semi final.
That for me was too much of a risk and the whole thing was rendered moot by the Italian 5 day isolation period because to make that we would have to leave BEFORE the last 16 game lol.
So long story short will be missing an England game that I could have had tickets for for the first time in a long long time. That’s if ESTC even takes up our allocation at all.

    In reply to Graham Morrison:

Depends how vigilant they're being as this might circumvent the Italian isolation issue but as it stands the return missing of the semi final would still exist. Trains and land borders do sound a lot less strict so this is a distinct possibility.

Of course if you were one of the UEFA 2500 you would be exempt from the quarantining on entering the UK. Marvellous isn't it?

SportOps are looking to do a charter if this gets clearance, they sent out an email to their database of clients!
Surely this can be achieved as an ‘in and out’ bubble for the match,a designated eating/drinking spot in the open air to satisfy covid protocol,I’m sure we would all suffer masking up for transfers to and from the ground?
I’ve had 2 jabs but appreciate many haven’t,but it does frustrate me on a personal level that we may be excluded from watching such an important match, most if not all of us will be willing to forego all the tourist stuff just to see the match!

I can't see Italy changing their stance. "Ange" wanted a blanket UK ban the other day, so from that front it's not looking great.

We could make a reciprocal arrangement with the Italians, they will want their fans at Wembley for future games,it’s doable!

Bidding to become the first European team to win a World Cup in South America, Germany have become red hot favourites. How could it be otherwise after that semi-final performance? Germany disposed of hosts Brazil with embarrassing, astonishing ease. The match was effectively over by the half-hour mark – and they have had an extra day’s rest compared with Argentina, who had to go the full 120 minutes before...

blogs: Natalie Sawyer: Summer move a springboard for Shaw

There have been a number of high-profile moves for England players this summer but I don’t think there will be many more – someone like Ross Barkley will be better served staying with Everton and backing up his fantastic first season. Ross is such a talent and I think if he is nurtured the right way he can certainly go on to be a great player. It’s probably easier for a club like Liverpool to hold...
