EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Insufficient isolation time between QF, SF and FINAL

Have I got this right before accepting tickets in the forthcoming ballot. As it stands if you attend, taking that England qualify, the quarter final in either St Petersburg or Rome there is insufficient days for self isolation before not only the semi final but also the Final ?

The upcoming ballot is for the group stage games only. The knockout games will be balloted individually before each game, once we know the location etc, so you will know before purchasing a ticket what the quarantine arrangements will be.

I think at the moment, you can pay to take an extra test after five days to cut your quarantine short. So yes, you would miss the semi-final, but if you're prepared to pay, would still be able to go to the final, assuming you get a ticket. Of course, quarantine and traffic light system may well change before then

It will depend on a few things. First, if we reach that stage, secondly what travel list each of those will be on. Thirdly, the rules for each country on arrival.

If we win the group, I really can't see many travelling to Rome. Italy currently requires you to isolate for 5 days on arrival and with them still recording around 200 deaths per day I can't see that changing in time. Given that the last 16 would be on the Tuesday night, it wouldn't be possible to attend the last 16 and the Q/F under current restrictions.

Bidding to become the first European team to win a World Cup in South America, Germany have become red hot favourites. How could it be otherwise after that semi-final performance? Germany disposed of hosts Brazil with embarrassing, astonishing ease. The match was effectively over by the half-hour mark – and they have had an extra day’s rest compared with Argentina, who had to go the full 120 minutes before...

blogs: Natalie Sawyer: Summer move a springboard for Shaw

There have been a number of high-profile moves for England players this summer but I don’t think there will be many more – someone like Ross Barkley will be better served staying with Everton and backing up his fantastic first season. Ross is such a talent and I think if he is nurtured the right way he can certainly go on to be a great player. It’s probably easier for a club like Liverpool to hold...
