Wreath laying in Volgograd

In memory of the Battle of Stalingrad, The FA and local Government delegation in Volgograd will be conducting a wreath laying ceremony on Monday 18 June at 9.45am.

If any England Supporters Travel Club members would like to attend and lay a wreath on behalf of England fans at the Hall of Military Glory in Volgograd they are welcome to do so. 

Volgograd was the scene of the largest battle in WW2 and as a mark of respect The FA, local residents and supporters will be gathering at the Hall of Military Glory to lay wreaths on the morning of the Tunisia v England match.

Please note: As a mark of respect, supporters in Volgograd are politely requested to refrain from hanging flags on public monuments or monuments & statues which reference the war.

    Having visited the Staliningrad museum today and read Beevor's "Staliningrad" in anticipation I think it would be worth while going, and yes I agree to keep my opinions to myself. One is treading on eggshells here, and Russians still have not come to terms with what they were doing in 1939 and 1940 and to that extent, how much of the tragedy of Staliningrad Stalin and the NKVD actually brought on their own people.
