England's 2018 kit revealed

Posted by Team England at 08:32 on Thursday 08 February 2018

Nike has revealed the 2018 England Collection including new home and away kits.

The outfits will be worn by all 28 national teams based out of St. George’s Park ahead of an exciting year that includes the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The new designs are rooted in Three Lions history while embracing Nike’s latest game-changing kit innovation.

The home kit is a classic look of white shirt, blue shorts and white socks. A modern rib collar is backed by a small St. George’s cross and chest carries the famous Three Lions crest in traditional colours below a silver star to mark England’s greatest achievement to date.

Meanwhile, the away kit is a two-tone red design with white shorts and red socks. The shirt is dominated by a tonal graphic that depicts a modern St. George’s cross.

The wider England Collection includes a range of training products with the highlight being a pre-match top which is a nod to the Three Lions’ 1982 look

The 2018 England Collection will go on sale in late March.

Actually, Adam, you're right with a lot of what you're saying and I agree with you about different types of engagement with advertising. I think what get's a lot of people's backs up is the FAs inability to get things right. We've recently had the Mark Sampson saga and all the adverse publicity that that lamentable episode generated and then when it comes to advertising the new kit it appears that the FA are keen to be seen to be bending over backwards to please/placate/curry favour with a certain section of society or campaigning group, having, in their minds, caused great offence to said section of society or campaigning group by their handing of the Sampson case. This is not a dig at the ESTC because I assume they're not involved in this type of thing. This type of thing goes right to the heart of the FA. Let's cut to the chase, why do you think the FA are using predominantly non-Caucasian models in their Nike advertising campaign (there's another one on the main FA website in which, from memory, nine of the 14 models are non-Caucasian)? You're right, in the great scheme of things, it doesn't matter who poses for these adverts, but, it is an undeniable fact that these ads do not represent our society as it is, nor the England team, nor the ESTC fan base. People have the right to question this and should not be dismissed as 'sad' or derided for giving 'enough of a toss' for doing so.

Perhaps it's related to the target market of the advertising - just to speculate as i'm not an insider, perhaps they see that the 'white, greying, middle-aged man' demographic (including myself!) as a bit of a given, in terms of whether they will/won't be influenced by the marketing in terms of propensity to buy the new shirt, so maybe it's that the strategy is to target groups that they think are under-represented in purchasing of the kits. I think it's fair to say that generally, the white male demographic is well/overly represented in football (in general), so probably not a demographic that shows much room for growth.

It's a picture of some people in football tops.

Yes, you're probably correct in making that assessment, Adam. I'm in the same demographic as you and I suppose it's fair to say they're not going to target the likes of us as, particularly in my case, my body shape is not really conducive to the wearing of football shirts. And, although I'm trying to lose weight, it's strictly loose-fitting upper-body apparel at the moment!

Why isn’t there a white female or white male representation !!! Hik you find 90% of the real fans are white English - I believe all should be represented ? Please answer why they aren’t !

Shirts are good how much ? Probably be half the price in sports direct as usual than Off the FA site
