World Cup: applications closed

Posted by Team England at 15:05 on Wednesday 31 January 2018

Applications to England games at the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ closed today at 9am (GMT)

FIFA will send an email to all lead applicants advising of the outcome of their application in the coming weeks. We recommend that Travel Club members ensure they have sufficient funds in their account to ensure that payment can be taken any time in February.

Members will not be able to make any further changes to their applications now that the deadline has passed. The England Supporters Club are unable to check individual applications on their behalf or make any changes for them.

FAN ID

Once you have bought a ticket (or received confirmation from FIFA that you have been successfully allocated a ticket) you will be able to apply for a FAN ID. The link to register for a FAN ID is: https://www.fan-id.ru/.

Please be aware that Travel Club membership cards and FA fan numbers are not the same as a FAN ID. FA Fan numbers allow you to access tickets to England matches and were required when submitting an application but they will not allow you visa-free access to Russia.

Free transport in and around the host cities is available with a FAN ID. Visit https://tickets.transport2018.com/free-train/schedule for information about the free rail services around Russia during the tournament or to reserve your seat. Please be aware that further train services will be released at a later date, so the information currently displayed will be added to by the Russian authorities.

For more information about FAN IDs, payments for tickets and dispatch, please visit our FAQ page here: https://englandsupporters.thefa.com/p/russia_2018

I have grave concerns now.......after Team England advised all games accept Belguim are under subscribed so Cat 3 is ok, i changed Panama to Cat 3 from 2.....but there is a comment on the Forum saying Cat 3 went to RED HIGH just before the closed time today. I hope if this is the case the FA offer Cat 3 unsuccessfull applicant the option to by CAT 2 :(

I spoke to the FA over the phone today (3 hrs after the deadline passed), and was told not to worry at all about the RED HIGH. It remains the case that everyone who applied Cat 3 will get a ticket regardless of their caps.

What’s the usual kind of waiting period? The suspense is killing me.

@ Thomas Harrison    For the Euro 2016 competition, the application window closed on 18th January 2016. It was on 7th February that FA announced the ballots had all been carried out and the names of the successful applicants had been passed back to UEFA. Payment for tickets was to commence in the week beginning 8th February.

If the same sort of time lapses apply to the World Cup 2018 then the ballots would be completed by 20th February 2018 and payments would commence on 21st February.

Cheers David. It’s my first tournament via a ballot - and coincidentally the lowest amount of caps I’ve had in a long time... I don’t appear to do things in the normal way.
