World Cup ticket update: allocations confirmed

Posted by Team England at 11:54 on Thursday 04 January 2018

FIFA have now provided us with our allocations for each of England’s matches at 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™.

  • Tunisia v England  - 2816
  • England v Panama  – 2855
  • England v Belgium  – 2119
  • Round of 16 – 3500
  • Quarter final – 3000
  • Semi Final – 4800
  • Final – 5100

What is 'purchasable capacity'?

FIFA have defined the purchasable capacity of a stadium to be the available seating minus hospitality, seat kills for segregation and media seats. So for example, Volgograd has a total of 45,568 physical seats inside the stadium but the total number of seats actually available for sale for England's first match against Tunisia is 35,208 which is the purchasable capacity. The purchasable capacity for Nizhny Novgorod is 35,691 and for Kaliningrad it is 26,487. FIFA have confirmed that the allocations we have received for the group matches are 8% of the purchasable capacity of each stadium.

The map below of Volgograd stadium as an example shows the purchasable capacity, with the areas blocked out in grey unavailable for sale. For a better idea of what seats are available to buy in each stadium and where each category is located, you can refer to the stadium maps FIFA have provided on their website with the areas in grey removed from the sale.

Ticket allocation

Based on these capacity figures and assuming that all members in the Travel Club apply for tickets to the tournament, we would advise that Travel Club members on 40+ caps would have an excellent chance of being allocated a ticket for the Belgium game, whereas members on 30+ caps would be highly likely to be guaranteed a ticket to the games against Tunisia and Panama, plus the R16 and QF matches. As the Semi-final and Final matches are scheduled to have the highest allocation, members on 20+ caps would have an excellent chance of being allocated a ticket.

Category splits

We are still awaiting further information regarding the precise category split for England's matches; once we received this we will endeavour to let members know in order to allow them to make an informed decision regarding their application. As previously advised, we still believe that members on 40+ caps will have a good chance of being allocated category 3 tickets whilst members on a low level of caps would have a better chance of being allocated a category 1 or 2 ticket.

Members still have until Wednesday 31 January to submit their applications with FIFA but we recommend that those still to apply should submit before Monday 15 January to allow us and FIFA time to assist with any queries or issues you may have before the window closes. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to help with any issues after the 15 January.
