World Cup draw party

Posted by Team England at 16:55 on Friday 01 December 2017

Over 100 Travel Club members came down to Wembley on Friday to watch the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia draw, eager to see where they would be travelling to come June 2018.

Guests were treated to complimentary refreshments (including festive mince pies from Lidl) in the newly opened Three Lions pub as CheekySport hosts David and Joel entertained the crowd and held a Q&A session with special guest Graeme Le Saux.

Soon after the draw had finished, confirming England in a group with Tunisia, Panama and Belgium, taking them to Volgograd, Nizhy Novgorod and Kaliningrad, CheekySport looked to Le Saux for his thoughts on the draw and some insight to what it is like being in an England team at the World Cup.

Each supporter who attended was entered into a raffle for a chance to win a signed England shirt or two FA Lounge tickets for the England v Italy match in March.  Two lucky winners Peter Connolly and Blaine Fleet were drawn out of the hat (actually a bag) to win the signed shirt and FA Lounge tickets respectively.

As the guests started to leave, no doubt with many of them having already booked their flights and hotels, the excitement that comes with the World Cup began to set in.

The official ticket application process for England Supporters Travel Club members opens on Tuesday 5th December and will be open until 31st January.  Anyone wishing to join up and apply for World Cup tickets can still do so whilst the FIFA application window is open.  Membership is now only £30 (£15 for Juniors) and all the information on the Travel Club, including a link to join, can be found by clicking here.

We wish to thank our Official travel partners Gullivers Sports Travel for attending and being on hand to provide travel information. They will be offering packages to follow England whilst in Russia and you can register your interest and keep up to date with these deals by clicking here.

A special thanks goes to Vauxhall for helping to organise the event and to Visit Russia for also being on hand to help with any queries supporters might have.

If you have any questions or queries on about the tournament and how the ticketing process will work you can view our World Cup FAQ’s here.

We want to thank everyone for coming and we look forward to seeing you in Russia!
