2018 FIFA World Cup ticket update

Posted by Team England at 14:00 on Wednesday 15 November 2017

Following the start of FIFA’s first General Public sale for 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia tickets we would like to provide Travel Club members with some information about ticket applications.

FIFA's first sales phase for tickets via a random selection draw closed on the 12th October and the second sales phase will begin following the completion of the World Cup draw on the 1st December.

This Second sales phase will be from the 5th December until the 31st January 2018. It will be during this sales phase that Travel Club members will be able to apply for England matches via The FA. During this phase, only Travel Club members will be able to apply for tickets in the official England allocation given to the The FA (approximately 8% of the saleable stadium capacity).

Please note: If you end up being allocated a ticket for an England match via FIFA's General Public sale, you will be in neutral sections of the stadium. To apply for England tickets via The FA during the December sale, each applicant must be a 2016-2018 Travel Club member.

Ticket restrictions

FIFA have advised that fans applying for tickets will be restricted to a total number of 7* matches throughout the whole tournament. This number includes any applications you make via the FIFA General Public sale and/or any application you make via The Travel Club for England games.

As with previous tournaments (and in line with current England away matches) fans can apply for tickets in groups of up to 4 people. Based on the number of matches you apply for, the total number of tickets available across the sale phases is 28**.

Travel Club members need to be mindful that if they applied during the FIFA General Public Sale for tickets to 7 matches and are successful with all 7 matches, they will not be able to apply for any England tickets during the second sales phase in December. Similarly, if you applied for 3 matches during FIFA's General Public Sale, you will only be able to apply for up to 4 England matches through The Travel Club.

FAN ID

To attend matches at the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, you must obtain a FAN ID. You can apply for your FAN ID after receiving your ticket confirmation email following the closure of the relevant sales phase. All guests and companions on your application must also obtain a FAN ID. The FAN ID also provides visa-free entry to Russia for the duration of the tournament.

The FAN ID has been introduced at the request of Russian authorities; neither The FA or FIFA are responsible for applications or the issuance of FAN IDs. Members are advised that FAN IDs will be required to enter each stadium in Russia, together with a valid match ticket. For more information, please refer to here: http://fan-id.ru/

For further details regarding FIFA's General Public sale, ticket prices, categories and match schedule, please refer to here: http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/organisation/ticketing/index.html.

Information regarding the application process for Travel Club members will be made available at a later date and subject to England's qualification.

* 8 matches if the 3rd/4th place play-off match is applied for.

** 32 matches if the 3rd/4th place match is included .

Click on 'Travel Club' at the top of this page and scroll down to the bottom of the page. There you will find the Rules of Membership. Section 6.3. describes the distribution of tickets for the World Cup. Basically, if a match is oversubscribed the system is :-

    -  70% to the top cappers who apply

    -  20% in a ballot restricted to those who have attended at least 4 home games and 2 away games in 2016-18

    -  10% in a ballot for anyone not successful in the 70% allocation / 20% ballot

The actual implementation of this rule is complicated by the fact that there are 3 categories of tickets and you must nominate which category you are applying for.

If I have just registered my Travel Club membership and have no caps, what is the possibility of me obtaining world cup tickets in the 2nd selling phase starting on 5th December?

With the amount going over and the size of the stadiums it’s well worth applying. Worst case you should get tickets for a couple of our games, even with 0 caps.

Help me please. I want to write a message, but I do not know where.

    Message:

"Hi! My name is Matvienko Sergei, I am an official volunteer of FIFA. I live in Russia in the city of Volgograd. I want to meet an English fan (not more than two, you can have a married couple), who HAS TICKETS FOR THE MATCH in Volgograd.

I can offer a fan: to meet him at the airport or at the railway station; invite him to visit my home for a few days, or find a good inexpensive hotel; show him the city; possible cruise on the river Volga on a yacht; take him to the airport.

If anyone is interested in my proposal, I will be happy to answer all questions and leave scans of my documents and contact numbers.

I do not have the opportunity to buy a ticket for the game.

Please write on this e-mail volga0825@gmail.com

    Thanks, Matvienko Sergey

P.S. Tell me, please, where else can I put this proposal?"
