Malta v England: transport update

Posted by Team England at 07:51 on Sunday 27 August 2017

Update 31/08/2017: The Malta Transport Authority has agreed to provide a number of extra buses between 5 pick-up points around the island which will take fans to the Ta'Qali stadium.

They will depart from:

- Valetta (The Mall - next to The Granaries)
- St Julian's (Pembroke Park and Ride)
- St Paul's Bay (Mellieha Bay - next to the Police Station)
- Bugibba (Bugibba/Qawra bus terminal)
- Sliema (still TBC)

These extra buses will run from 5pm –7pm. Upon arrival at the stadium the buses will remain there to bring you back after the match has ended. Return tickets will cost €6 per person - these can be bought with cash only at the departure point. Please ensure you keep hold of your return ticket as you will need this to get the return bus back after the match. The buses will have signs saying "Football Stadium - TM Transport" in the front windows.

At the stadium on match day

We have been advised that there will be an outer security perimeter 10 minutes before the stadium where an initial ID and ticket check will take place. For this reason we are unfortunately unable to operate a ticket collection point at the stadium prior to kick off. Please ensure you collect your match tickets from the Intercontinental hotel in St Julian's before 7.30pm on matchday.  You will not be able to collect your tickets from the stadium.  Full collection details are:

Intercontinental Hotel

St George’s Bay

St Julians STJ 3310

Opening times (all in local time)

Thursday 31 August: 2pm-8pm

Friday 1 September: 10am-7.30pm

Collecting tickets

Please bring either your current 2016-2018 Travel Club membership card or any up-to-date photo identification to collect your ticket.

If you are part of a group, each member must collect their ticket in person. Not all members of the group need to collect their ticket at the same time but please be aware that it will not be possible for another member (or non-member) to collect your ticket on your behalf.

To help save time when collecting tickets, we advise members to know the name of the 'Lead Booker' in their order.

As per all away matches, tickets issued via The FA are non-transferable. Duplicate tickets will not be issued to members who have lost, stolen or damaged their tickets so please take of your ticket at all times.
