Scotland, France and beyond

Posted by Team England at 10:58 on Thursday 22 June 2017

The close-season may be upon us but preparations are continuing for The FA and the England Supporters Club for the men’s senior forthcoming matches.

Ticket news is available here for the Malta and Slovakia matches, while we hope to confirm the venue for October’s trip to Lithuania in the very near future.

With the FIFA Confederations Cup currently underway in Russia, a group of FA staff are using the tournament as fact-finding trip to ensure the supporter experience is central to plans should England qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

Reflecting on the last two matches earlier this month in Scotland and France, The FA would like to acknowledge all who represented the national team and English football in the right way by showing respect for the game, our hosts and the opposition fans and players.  There were minimal issues reported to us and we feel this should be highlighted in light of events in Dortmund back in March.

As always we are fully committed to putting a stop to anti-social or unacceptable behaviour both inside grounds and across host cities.  If you witness any unacceptable behaviour or would like to report anything else, you can do so in confidence by emailing englandsupportersclub@thefa.com.

Thank you for your support.

Please could you comment on the report in the forum about fans being taken out from the England section after, apparently, being "spotted" singing a song about Gordon Strachan and then arrested and charged with "offensive behaviour" ?

Martin, that can't be true surely??

Not Cheer up Gordon Strachan song?

If anything, the Scotts were awful, I got hit by a coin and a block of ice after they equalised, and the Scottish police said to our group after the game and I quote "You boys get a lot of bad press but today you've been fantastic"

I thought fan behaviour for both games was exceptional.

Otherwise known as a Jolly.... Supporter experience? Nobody has asked me what I need/want to enhance my experience.

@ Andrew Hookway -    Start a thread. There may well be some issues that the FA haven't thought of, and I expect there would be some witty gems from the forum members.

    Dear Team England,

Thanks for prompt reply, I hadn't seen your reply in the thread (link here for others  englandsupporters.thefa.com/.../12216)

Please let us know the upshot.

I'm sort of hoping that those arrested were guilty of more than questioning the Scottish manager's parentage.

Re the Fact Finding - guys, there on some on here who would be very quick to complain and say "why didn't you tell us, etc, etc" if these trips weren't done. I can think of better jollies.
