France v England security update

Posted by Team England at 09:47 on Monday 12 June 2017

The England Supporters Travel Club would like to provide a safety update to fans travelling to the France v England match on Tuesday 13 June.

It is recommended that all fans travelling to France should carry a form of photo ID with them at all times. ID can be in the form of a passport, a photo driving license or other documentation provided by a governing body.

The French government has launched a free smartphone app to alert users about possible security incidents in France; the app is called SAIP (Système d’alerte et d’information des populations) and is available to download in English and French via the App store or Google Play.

All members attending the France game are strongly advised to check the FCO website before travelling abroad. Click here for FCO travel advice in France: https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/france

Turnstiles open at 7pm local time. Supporters are encouraged to arrive at least 60 minutes before kick-off to allow for security checks that will be in place for this match.  For security reasons only small bags are permitted and all ticket holders are advised  that they are likely to be filmed inside the stadium or when accessing it as part of video surveillance measures.

FOLLOW ENGLAND AWAY IN THE RIGHT WAY

The FA has consistently urged supporters to show respect and not chant songs that could be regarded as insulting to others, particularly from a religious or political perspective. In light of recent behaviour, this message needs to be proactively reinforced.

Members are reminded that if they witness any xenophobic, racist, sectarian, sexist or anti-social behaviour before or during the match, they can report it in confidence by emailing englandsupportersclub@thefa.com or by calling or texting us on 0797 0146 250.
