Germany v England ballot update

The German Football Federation have confirmed our allocation for the match taking place on Wednesday 22 March 2017 in Dortmund.

We have been allocated a total number of 3165 tickets split across two price categories: 1238 Category 4 tickets (lower tier) priced at £39 and 1927 Category 5 tickets (upper tier) priced at £22.

The ballot for tickets has now been completed and emails have been sent to members who registered. The caps cut-off was 17.

How to buy a ticket
If you still wish to attend the match, you will need to purchase your ticket from midday on Tuesday 13 December and until 3pm Thursday 15 December. You can purchase your ticket by calling the England Supporters Travel Club ticket line on 0844 847 2010 or alternatively log onto www.thefa.com/tickets. 

Please note that group bookings are limited to a maximum of four 2016-2018 Travel Club members per group and each person would need to have been successful in the ballot. If you wish to be seated as a group, please book your seats in one order by providing each Travel Club fan number and dates of birth of each member of your group – we will not be able to add further seats to a booking at a later date. 

Wheelchair Access 
ESTC members who were successful in the ballot and registered for wheelchair accessible seating should call us directly on 0800 389 1966 between midday on Tuesday 13 December and until 3pm Thursday 15 December.

Unsuccessful applications

2nd chance sale 
If you wish to still attend the match, there will be a 2nd chance sale for any 2016-2018 ESTC members who missed out the first time round.  Any tickets that go unclaimed in the first sale will be made available to ESTC members on a first-come, first served basis from midday on Friday 16 December via 0844 847 2010 or www.thefa.com/tickets.

Please be assured that we have requested additional tickets from the German Football Federation in order to meet the demand from our members.  If additional tickets are offered to us then we will conduct a further ballot and update members accordingly.

All members will be required to collect their tickets in person in Dortmund, full collection details will be provided a few weeks before the match date. 

Travel Club members are reminded that these tickets are for personal use only and non-transferable under any circumstance.

Members have up until 21 days before the match to cancel their ticket in writing and receive a refund.

  • Two things that surprise me here:

    - The allocation is extremely low.

    - The ticket pricing is rather expensive for German football. If memory serves me right, the friendly in Berlin was cheaper.

  • Great. Flights booked, hotel booked. Ticket unsuccessful. Pi$$ take.

  • If I have been successful does that mean my son has as well

  • Scotland got over 4000 when they played a qualifier there the other year. We should only give them 3,000 tickets when we play the return game at Wembley, whenever that is.

  • How ridiculous, book everything £550 don't even get a ticket, any tickets spare ?

  • Those who have booked with Thomson sport will be guaranteed a ticket regardless of number of caps. Just saying.

  • Does anyone know from previous experience whether additional allocation is likely? First ballot as a Travel Club Member didn't turn out so well.

  • German FA gave us an enormous allocation this year which we failed to sell out at £19 a ticket.

    DFB, They've used common sense really. Ground holds less than usual too.

  • Paul Reville said that those who had booked with Thompson Sport got a guaranteed ticket.  Sorry Paul, but you have to get your tickets through the FA.  Look at Thompson' site.

  • So I'm successful but why do I have to wait a week before I can buy my ticket?

  • Flights etc booked.Unsuccessful on 6 caps.  Not complaining but how does the said ballot actually work? Have I wasted £120 on me and my son joining travel club as will we always struggle for away tickets?

    What are the usual chances in the 2nd one and what are the chances of the FA getting the extra 900+ tickets to satisfy the demands

  • I would imagine the FA are busting a gut to get the extra 900  tickets.... it does nt do much to encourage new comers to the TC, if only 4099 register and they still cant get enough tickets.  I was successful but 6 out of 10 (including my son were not). The daft thing is anyone hell bent on going will just go in the german end via DFB or Viagogo et al. We know it, they know, it so just give us more!!!!
