Advice for fans attending England v Iceland

Posted by Team England at 16:36 on Friday 24 June 2016

England v Iceland, Monday 27th June 2016

For England’s Round of 16 match against Iceland on Monday, we would like to advise fans that the best way to get to the Stade de Nice is via the shuttle buses that depart from the fanzone and the main railway station. The first departures begin at 4pm local time with the last bus departing for the stadium at 7pm local time. For fans travelling from the airport and the Parking du MIN, the first shuttle bus departs at 4pm local time with the last bus leaving at 7pm.

Fans travelling to the stadium via the shuttlebus service are advised to purchase their ticket in advance (the ticket is €3) from the fanzone, the main train station in Nice, the airport and the Parking du MIN. Alternatively, fans can travel to the stadium via taxi but please be aware that costs may vary.

Fans should be aware that the stadium is not located centrally in Nice and is about 10km to the west of the city. The England Supporters Club recommends that fans plan their route to the stadium and to allow plenty of time for collecting their tickets at the Voucher Exchange Point and making their way to the stadium. Fans should also be aware that there are only 3 entrances to the stadium so we recommend fans arrive as early as possible to avoid congestion – the stadium opens 3 hours before kick-off.

For information about bag restrictions, and getting around each host city please visit the UEFA website here: http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuro/ticketing/faq/index.html.

They're definitely not free, but I saw when it was chaos for Spain vs Turkey, that they didn't really enforce it as they just tried to pile people on.

Whilst you may not have paid, the buses for NI v Poland were not free.  I am surprised nobody that has already used the shuttle buses to the Nice ground has not mentioned how far away from the ground that they drop you off, at least a mile and then you walk along a brand spanking road that is closed to vehicles to the ground. i suppose they didn't want to ruin the tarmac!!
