England squad for Germany & Netherlands friendlies named

England manager Roy Hodgson has named a 24-man squad for the seniors' upcoming friendlies with Germany and the Netherlands.

Included in the squad is one new face in Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater, while uncapped Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose is also selected.

Daniel Sturridge, Danny Welbeck, Jordan Henderson and Fraser Forster return to the squad after injury, while captain Wayne Rooney misses out.

The Three Lions travel to face Germany in Berlin on Saturday 26 March, with matters getting under way at the Olympiastadion at 7.45pm GMT.

Hodgson's men then return to England, where they face the Netherlands at Wembley Stadium connected by EE on Tuesday 29 March, with a kick-off time of 8pm GMT.

Goalkeepers: Jack Butland (Stoke City), Fraser Forster (Southampton), Joe Hart (Manchester City)

Defenders: Ryan Bertrand (Southampton), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Nathaniel Clyne (Liverpool), Phil Jagielka (Everton), Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur), Chris Smalling (Manchester United), John Stones (Everton), Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur)

Midfielders: Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur), Ross Barkley (Everton), Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur), Danny Drinkwater (Leicester City), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Adam Lallana (Liverpool), James Milner (Liverpool), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City)

Forwards: Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool), Jamie Vardy (Leicester City), Theo Walcott (Arsenal), Danny Welbeck (Arsenal)

    Gutted that Mark Noble has again been overlooked by Roy Hodgson.  He's definitely better than at least 3 midfielders picked.  Roy obviously doesn't like West Ham

    Too many Players are in on 'past performances' becasue the likes of Welbeck, Sturridge, Walcott, Sterling, Walker etc are NOT being picked for their current form. Harder to get OUT of Roy's squad these days than to get in to it. The rest of Europe is currently quivering with fear at our arival in the Euro's.
