Euro 2016 credit card update

Contrary to recent reports that payment exceptions have been granted to other Football Associations, UEFA have provided the following statement:

“Even though the ticketing portal states that credit cards are the only accepted form of payment, debit cards may work as well, providing that the issuing bank considers that their debit card can be used in the same way as a credit card. Please be aware that banks use different criteria when processing payments which may vary from bank to bank for different reasons. Unsuccessful payments are therefore possible with debit cards in the same way as credit cards.”

UEFA have also confirmed that all football federations are being treated in the same way and that the Terms and Conditions stated are the same for all. For fans who have been affected by issues such as credit card fraud after the ticketing portal closed, we would like to assure them that we are working with UEFA to find a solution and will provide further updates to members as soon as possible.

    Great stuff... Nice to know they are trying to put something in place.

    As it seems unfair to lose tickets if the Card company's refuse payment due to fraud.

    Like most other comments the money was taken on Friday but no idea for which games as it is not the total amount

    I applied for tickets and the total cost was about 1080 about euros (£900 ) with maybe a bit more if I got upgraded tickets I got billed £1876 so I am totally surprised at that amount my tickets must be gold plated

    Hello all - I had the money taken on Friday as well but no clue as to which games I've got, no e-mail confirmation - nothing. If the amount taken looks strange to people it could be because you agreed to accept tickets in any category - the price difference between a cat 1 and a cat 4 ticket is massive - especially for the later games.

    When applying I calculated that the tickets I applied for should total around £1100. I've just have over £2000 taken from my account and no notification as to what games or categories.

    I know there are lots of people on here waiting, like me, for a glimmer of hope that our application will still be successful. I, like lots of you, went to Belgium/Holland, Japan, Portugal, Germany, South Africa, Ukraine, Brazil, I have flights/hotels/trains all booked for France, and so far, six of us with NO TICKETS !!

    Well done Englandfans for sorting my issue out and getting my tickets allocated! Uefa were awful!! How can there no process in place for lost or stolen cards!! Uefa just kept saying tickets have been cancelled!! Englandfans got involved and sorted it! WELL DONE!!
