This stadium was originally built for the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin. Since 1963 it has been the home for Hertha BSC and has also hosted nine World Cup matches across two World Cups (1974 and 2006). The German Cup (DBF-Pokal) final is also held here each year, much like The Emirates FA Cup Final at Wembley. Recently the stadium has also been used for matches in the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2015 UEFA Champions League Final.
