England v Scotland match day information

Posted by Team England at 11:12 on Sunday 08 November 2015

We fully respect the laws of the game and take our founding role on the International Football Association Board extremely seriously.

The poppy is an important symbol of remembrance and we do not believe it represents a political, religious or commercial message, not does it relate to any one historical event.

In keeping with the position agreed with FIFA back in 2011 and in what we believe is in accordance with Law 4, para 4, The FA intend to pay appropriate tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice by having the England team wear black armbands bearing poppies in our fixture on Armistice Day.

Running order:

General admission gates open: 18:15
Players warm up: 19:10
National anthems: 19:35
Wreaths laid on pitch and Armistice Day acknowledgments: 19:40
Minutes silence: 19:42
Kick off: 19:45

I applaud the FA stance on this issue. FIFA shows a total lack of understanding in their ruling.

Would be better if they put the poppies in the middle of the shirts though

Wear the poppy with pride lads. We Will Remember Them . . . even if FIFA won't!
