Were you at Italia '90? Send us your World Cup memories

Posted by Team England at 15:54 on Tuesday 30 June 2015

Twenty-five years ago England reached the FIFA World Cup semi-final – their first on foreign soil.

Ahead of Saturday's anniversary of that memorable night in Turin, we are asking fans to share with us their memories of Italia '90.

Despite the Three Lions' shootout defeat by West Germany, it was an iconic tournament that really captured the imagination of fans at home and abroad.

You can submit your Italia '90 memories to us via Twitter @England or Facebook/EnglandTeam, using the hashtag #FollowEnglandAway.

Or click here to comment your memories on our forum thread.

From Wright's flick-on against Egypt to Platty's winning volley against Belgium, Lineker's pair of penalties past Cameroon and Gazza's tears in the semi-final – the World Cup in Italy will always be remembered.

Fans who Follow England Away always come back with a tale to tell, and the biggest football tournament on the planet is no exception.

Did you head out to Italy to support Bobby Robson's men in the summer of 1990? Were you there that night in Turin 25 years ago?

If so, we want you to send us your stories and photos from your World Cup journey.

And on Saturday, as we commemorate England's best performance at a World Cup since lifting the Jules Rimet trophy at Wembley in 1966, we will share our favourite ones here on TheFA.com, across our official social media channels and in future England match programmes.
