The Three Lions regroup for Euro Qualifier away in Slovenia

Posted by Team England at 14:45 on Thursday 11 June 2015

Roy Hodgson's England players returned to the fold on Wednesday to prepare for Sunday's European Qualifier in Slovenia.

The Three Lions extended their unbeaten run to ten games with a 0-0 draw against Ireland in Dublin last weekend.

And while Hodgson was pleased with certain aspects of the game, he admits they must do better when they go into their next encounter on the road to France 2016 in four days' time.

"You always learn at every game at this level, I learnt quite a lot and I think the players learnt a lot," said Hodgson.

"We have learnt some lessons, most important is: When you set yourself high standards you have to match them. And when you don’t match them you have to deal with the disappointments.

"We can’t look for the minor positives, such as another game unbeaten or another clean sheet, we have set very high targets.

"This might sound boastful but we believe we are going to get to the Finals in 2016 and there will be some tough games there."

That will be something Hodgson will now address back on the training pitch in the coming days leading up to their important trip to Ljubljana - their final game of the season.

All 23 members of Hodgson's squad reported for duty at the team base after a two-day recuperation following the Ireland game.
