UEFA Open General Public Registrations for Euro 2016

Posted by Team England at 09:12 on Wednesday 20 May 2015

England Supporters who are looking to apply through the general public ballot for Euro 2016 tickets may be interested to hear that UEFA have announced ticket details for the UEFA EURO 2016 ticket sales process. This process aims to ensure that as many fans as possible have the opportunity to attend the first 24-team UEFA European Championships, which take place in France. Supporters are welcomed to be part of the celebrations of the best of European national team football in state-of-the-art stadiums spread across the whole of France.

The ticketing portal, EURO2016.com/tickets, is now open for registrations so that fans can sign up before the first ticket sales window opens on 10 June. This initial window closes on 10 July to coincide with the dates that the tournament will be played next summer. This is then followed by a window to apply for Specific Team Matches which will open in December 2015 and close January 2015.

For all matches and categories where demand exceeds supply, tickets will be attributed by lottery. Every applicant will have the same chance of being successful, irrespective of when the application has been made between 10 June and 10 July 2015.

Subject to England qualifying, tickets will be made available to supporters who are members of the England Supporters Travel Club at the end of December 2015. This follows the completion of qualifying matches and is after the final-round draw to determine the groups has taken place on 12 December 2015. Further details regarding the registration and sales process will be communicated to all members of the England Supporters Travel Club in due course.

In order to make it easy the number of products available has been simplified:

- Individual ticket : 1 match in 1 stadium
- Destination pass: 2 consecutive matches in the same stadium
- Follow my Team: Series of tickets allowing fans to follow their favourite team throughout the tournament (from 3 to 7 matches); this product will be available in December 2015 together with the tickets reserved for fans of the qualified national associations.

UEFA will also make a number of tickets available for disabled fan's at every match, in the lowest price category, regardless of their location in the stadium. Disabled fans can also request a complimentary seat for an accompanying person.

The following rules have been put in place to ensure that as many people as possible have access to Euro matches:

- Maximum 4 tickets per applicant and per match;
- 1 match per day per applicant;
- No obligation to buy a certain amount of tickets for group matches in the hope of getting a semi-final or final ticket.

An official ticketing resale platform on EURO2016.com will allow ticket holders, if they cannot attend a match for whatever reason, to legally resell their tickets at face value. This platform will be opened in March-April 2016, once the sales to supporters of the participating teams is over.

UEFA has also released a helpful FAQ page which can be found here.

The best chance to get tickets for England Games, subject to qualification, is still by becoming a member of the England Supporters Travel Club. For more details of this please click here.

    Can you confirm that ESTC members who apply for general public tickets will be able to apply again through ESTC for the same matches, provided of course that you were unsuccessful first time in the general public sale?

    Also, I suspect that a number of us will be applying for opening match tickets and matches in Lens, Lille and Paris. If, for example, I was to successfully acquire tickets for the match in Lille on June 15 (B2 v B4) in the general sale, and it transpired that English were drawn to B2, how would I go about acquiring tickets for B2's matches in Marseille and Toulouse? Would I have to/be able to apply for those matches individually through ESTC, or would you advise that in that situation that I would be better to take the 'Follow my Team' option for the group stage and resell my individually acquired ticket?

    Sorry if that is a bit complicated, but I think this is going to be a situation which will come up.
