Carlsberg: The People’s Pundit

Posted by Team England at 09:52 on Friday 27 February 2015

Every true fan thinks they can talk about the game they love – and so they should. During the 2014 World Cup we endured some pretty dubious coverage, so now the Carlsberg Fan Squad is on a mission: to see if real and true football fans, on the street and across the country are good enough to do better.

Could one of them be the next generation’s voice of football? Carlsberg has teamed up with talkSPORT to find out.

Led by Jeff “The King” Stelling and the rest of the Carlsberg Fan Squad, this once-in-a-lifetime competition aims to find the best armchair analyst this glorious island has to offer, pluck them from obscurity, hand them a microphone and give them the chance to let their words of footballing wisdom ring round the ears of fans nationwide.

It’s simple to enter:

1) SELECT
Think back to a truly memorable match and get ready to deliver something epic.
2) SHOOT
Film yourself on your phone or video camera and upload it to your usual video-sharing site like Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo etc. Make sure your video isn’t private so we can see it!
3) SUBMIT
Head over to www.thepeoplespundit.co.uk to enter your details, including the link to your video entry and hit submit.

Also, keep an eye out for The People’s Pundit Van, decked out with a custom built studio, as it visits football stadiums and pubs across the country.

The deadline for entries is 2nd March, after which the top entrants will be invited to a series of regional showdowns around the country, to battle until 5 remain. These 5 finalists will then attend a unique talkSPORT bootcamp, where they will learn how to be the best, from the best. The lucky winner, as judged by the public and the team at Carlsberg and talkSPORT will go on to join talkSPORT as part of the on-air team live for the last game of the 2014/2015 Premier League season in May.

It’s going to be a fiercely contended competition, and we can’t wait to see who rises to the challenge to become the first Carlsberg People’s Pundit.

Find out more and watch some of the entries on Carlsberg Fan Squad’s Twitter (www.twitter.com/CarlsbergFooty) or Facebook (www.facebook.com/CarlsbergUK) and don’t forget to listen live on talkSPORT, the world’s biggest sports radio station.

In my earlier posting I should have mentioned I was referring to it when it was at the West end of the stadium, If change was necessary why not move the hospitality seats, let's face it they are more than often empty, ideal for the AWAY end. What other areas have been messed about with? I only missed the last game.
