Slovenia, San Marino & Lithuania away venue details

Slovenia, San Marino & Lithuania away venue details

Posted by Team England at 09:58 on Wednesday 14 January 2015

The venues for England’s forthcoming UEFA EURO 2016 Qualifiers against Slovenia, San Marino and Lithuania have now been confirmed.

The Three Lions will face Slovenia at the Stožice Stadium in Ljublijana on Sunday 14 June (5pm kick-off GMT).

England’s campaign will continue with a return visit to San Marino on Saturday 5 September (5pm Kick-off GMT). The venue will be the national stadium, known locally as Stadio Olimpico. England’s last visit to San Marino was as recently as March 2013 in a World Cup qualifier which ended in an 8-0 victory.

Roy Hodgson’s side’s Group E qualifying campaign will conclude with a trip to the 5,000-capacity LFF Stadium in Vilnius to take on Lithuania on Monday 12 October (7.45pm kick-off GMT). We have been advised that we are likely to only receive 5% of the available ticket allocation which equates to approximately 250 tickets (the UEFA ticketing agreement requires a minimum of 5% of tickets be made available to the away supporters). We wanted to share this information now to help members with their planning and expectations of acquiring a ticket.

Full details regarding the registration, ballot and sale arrangements will be communicated to members of the England Supporters Travel Club in due course.

    Thanks for the info.

Will the FA be lobbying to get the game moved to a stadium with a larger capacity?

As this stadium is owned by the Lithuanian Football Federation cant see it being played elsewhere.

    Hope to be wrong ofc!

As we play Lithuania in March, would be great if both FA could have a word and increase this allocation. I understand that the Lithuanian FA will not move the game to the 15,000 capacity stadium which is a shame, but surely with this game being pointless by the time we travel there, surely they can look at increase it to the maximum allowed by UEFA?

With this potentially being a meaningless game for then at the end of the campaign, you can just see our away end of 250 plus about 2000 I'm home end, followed by 2,000 empty seats. Surely something better can be mutually agreed?

Please do the San Marino ballot (or announce there won't be one) as soon as possible.  We want to spend a few days in Italy first and need to make some bookings, which depend on whether or not we're going to get into the England game.

Any idea allocation for Rep  Ireland  do you think it will be like scotland no ballot. Also how many tickets for San Marino are we likely to get. Many thanks.

The Travel club completed registration for Italy without knowing how many tickets there are, with so few being made available for Lithuania could the registration not be completed now? We could then gauge the interest and our individual chances of obtaining a ticket.

Got our flights booked and paid for, regardless of getting a ticket, as now there only worth one point, and not two. Who knows? they may change the venue or we still may get a know show ticket on the day.....
