EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Carnage

At times I was embarrassed to be an England fan yesterday!!!

Having been lucky enough, through the ESTC membership to be re-allocated my group, semi-final and final tickets I awaited each game with hope and anticipation

One of my favourite moments was standing outside the co-op before the Croatia game on Wembley way, drinking my lemonade singing 10 German bombers with the fans.

Move forward to the final - pissed up individuals wearing England shirts throwing beer cans, traffic cones and anything else they could get their hands on!!! It was a beer fuelled riot!!! Very scary at times!!!!

Storming the stadium!!! Accept you don’t have a ticket!!!!! Many of the true fans who have been loyal England fans for years and have endured the dross games during the cold and wet!!! Deserved their seats. They didn’t want to share it with a pissed up yob who’d got in for free!!!

Don’t even start me on racial abuse!!!!

Yes we lost on penalties!!!! Their colour is not why they missed!!!! Their performances in the previous games are the the reason we were in the final!!!

I am proud of every single member of the England team- from coach to players to back room staff.

Come on England, I still believe - Qatar

Totally agree with you it was scarcely. Completely different from the game against Denmark. With hindsight should have made Wembley an alcohol free zone, and had the security cordons much further out.

Personally I didn't feel at risk when the barriers were being stormed and pushed over but my Granddaughter who I go with didn't like it and wanted to get inside asap. Then it started just inside entrance F where we were. Not nice for kids to have to witness.

It was clear it was all getting out of control very early. Queuing for the portaloo next to Wembley arena was particularly interesting, ducking to avoid glass bottles flying through the air. This carnage, hours before even the warm ups.
All in all, a sad reflection of society & some of the scum that occupy this country.

News: Pop-up party a great success!

Jon Widdows from Chingford in Essex won a pop-up party at his house for the England v Costa Rica game on Tuesday, and said it was “one of the best Tuesdays ever!” He was able to invite 10 friends to his house for a party thrown by us, and...

blogs: Natalie Sawyer: Let’s hope England can bounce back like Brentford

As a Brentford fan I’m used to suffering disappointments and England need to summon the spirit of the Bees to bounce back stronger than ever. The season before last we missed out twice on promotion from League One – on the last day of the season and in the play-off final – and I know all the players said they didn’t want to go through that again. This time round we came second to go up automatically...

blogs: John Hemmingham: No shortage of memories despite the disappointment

There we were at the stadium in Sao Paulo, instruments in hand with 10 minutes to go until England kicked off against Uruguay – it was do-or-die time for the team and we’d been waiting for an hour to hear if they were going to let us play inside. Suddenly stadium officials came to us and told us we couldn’t take the instruments in – that’s when the panic set in. We couldn’t miss the...

blogs: Natalie Sawyer: Costa Rica will be a platform for performance

I was actually live on air the moment England’s exit from the World Cup was confirmed and it was a very odd few minutes. As a reporter you usually thrive on breaking news but this was so disappointing, so deflating for the nation that I almost...

blogs: Mark Wright: Fresh blood for three points?

As an England fan I’m trying to stay as positive as I can, but it’s difficult in this situation! I was at the Uruguay game and the atmosphere was incredible, even though the result wasn’t good at all. Roy Hodgson has made changes for the Costa Rica game and it’s time for some of the squad players to come in and show us what they can do. There’s no point playing the same guys who lost the...
