EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Let’s be patient and positive

For those of us lucky enough to be at Wembley tonight  let’s be positive and patient in our support. The last two matches in block 507 I’ve been unfortunate enough to be in front of people who are not happy from the first to the last whistle.

Southgate has got everything call right, yes it was a hard watch at times in the group games but we won, we have got better as the tournament has progressed and are in a final. So let’s be patient and support the team in a positive way, no booing, no saying this is ***, no calling for Grealish from the 5th minute, and when he does come on say his overrated. (Yes someone actually said that).

If you can’t go to a Euros final and support the team in a positive way, you might as well stay at home.

COME ON ENGLAND! IT’S COMING HOME!

At the Scotland game I was in club wembley and 3 lads came back about 10 mins into the 2nd half and all sat down to eat their pizzas .
I’d rather hear moaning than see people there who don’t give a flying . It’s still showing emotion

But agree 90 minutes of pure support tonight can only help even if losing

When Denmark scored, many England fans sat down with their head in their hands. Moments later, some fans were getting everybody back on their feet and cheering for England again.

Great to see, and we scored within minutes!

Couldn't agree more. I find Southgates style tedious, his selections poor and generally a waste of the talent available.

    BUT

Today is the day for unconditional support, it doesn't matter if Grealish is not on the pitch (he should be) or your preferred formation is not used.
100% support from start to finish. We can moan tomorrow if necessary.

Well I gave unconditional support last night and what did Southgate give us back? A carbon copy of the Moscow semi final (3 years to the day). Score after 2 minutes, and just sit back and hope to hang on, making poor substitutions and being tactically out fought by the opposite manager yet again in a big game.
Such a poor poor second half. We won't get close to winning the World Cup in Qatar with GS in charge sadly.

Manchini made his changes at the right time. Not sure why southgate took so long. Especially bringing on sancho and southgate with only two minutes left. For the azzurri not to qualify for the world cup and then win the next tournament is something else.

    In reply to Clarke Buckeridge:

    Agreed.
Southgate is unimaginative and tactically limited. He is wasting the talent available while playing 7 defenders and boring us all.
Rice and Phillips may well be good at tackling but they are a momentum sponge just sticking the energy out of the play.
Southgate is a decent bloke and seems to genuinely get on with the players but his club management career and England shows that he just can't do it when it matters.

Yes, the thing he is doing right is having the best squad of players since 1970, maybe ever. We could field 3 excellent teams although we would have to share the right backs rather than having them all on at once

Couldn't agree more. I won't lie, have never rated his tactical skills or reading of a game. I know he's a nice bloke and all but is too conservative and plays his favourites no matter what. Last night the game was there for the taking but Mancini showed how to make changes that alter the game in your favour.

Subs at the wrong times, way too deep for most of the game and the bizarre decision to give high pressure penalty duties to players who've hardly touched the ball show how limited he is. We have a very good squad full of exciting talent but you wouldn't believe that watching last night.

Italy had the better team, England had the better squad.

Knew what was coming when he added Trippier. to the line up.

Was just surprised Italy didn't finish us off in the second half.

I think Chiesa being injured put paid to that, he was their main dangerman and his speed and movement was incredible. Still can't believe we lost to a team who had such an ineffective striker in Immobile. He can't hit a barn door if he tried! Saying that Kane was quiet bit probably more to do with the negative tactics than anything else.
