Wembley has a total seating capacity of 90,362.

Around 5,000 seats are covered by UEFA logos - mainly the front rows of the lower tiers.

There are usually around 2,500 'guests'.

This means that (in theory at least), the maximum number of seats available for sale is around 82,500 (maybe slightly more).

There are other restrictions. Evening games are usually restricted to around 85,000. There are other restrictions on Sunday evenings - concerts, I think are restricted to 72,000.

So full house might mean something between 65,000 (67,500) and 82,500 (85,000)!

Cant see them increasing it .. its better with 60,000 in an extra 20,000 Ed Sheeran types will dilute the atmosphere.. and start the Mexican Wave..

News: Pop-up party a great success!

Jon Widdows from Chingford in Essex won a pop-up party at his house for the England v Costa Rica game on Tuesday, and said it was “one of the best Tuesdays ever!” He was able to invite 10 friends to his house for a party thrown by us, and...

blogs: Natalie Sawyer: Let’s hope England can bounce back like Brentford

As a Brentford fan I’m used to suffering disappointments and England need to summon the spirit of the Bees to bounce back stronger than ever. The season before last we missed out twice on promotion from League One – on the last day of the season and in the play-off final – and I know all the players said they didn’t want to go through that again. This time round we came second to go up automatically...

blogs: John Hemmingham: No shortage of memories despite the disappointment

There we were at the stadium in Sao Paulo, instruments in hand with 10 minutes to go until England kicked off against Uruguay – it was do-or-die time for the team and we’d been waiting for an hour to hear if they were going to let us play inside. Suddenly stadium officials came to us and told us we couldn’t take the instruments in – that’s when the panic set in. We couldn’t miss the...

blogs: Natalie Sawyer: Costa Rica will be a platform for performance

I was actually live on air the moment England’s exit from the World Cup was confirmed and it was a very odd few minutes. As a reporter you usually thrive on breaking news but this was so disappointing, so deflating for the nation that I almost...

blogs: Mark Wright: Fresh blood for three points?

As an England fan I’m trying to stay as positive as I can, but it’s difficult in this situation! I was at the Uruguay game and the atmosphere was incredible, even though the result wasn’t good at all. Roy Hodgson has made changes for the Costa Rica game and it’s time for some of the squad players to come in and show us what they can do. There’s no point playing the same guys who lost the...
