EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Sales Window Issue for my son - Advice Needed

My son received an email saying he is in sale window 4 even though he previously had a follow my team England semi final and final ticket, we didn’t request a refund and he had 21 Euro 2020 caps. This original application was through the England allocation.

From what I can workout he should be in sale window 2 but now it looks like he’s not guaranteed a ticket!

I’ve email England Supporters Club but no reply yet and I’m worried he’ll now miss out on a ticket.

Best to try phoning as well. The number and opening times are on another thread on here.

Yes, we’re in window 3 with 9 caps so that’s definitely wrong.

Seems UEFA claim my son either requested a refund or wasn’t successful in the original application despite me having the original sales invoice and submitted application with an additional category 3 ticket alongside a wheelchair and companion ticket for the semi final and final.

Not getting my joy from England Supporters Club so don’t know what I’m able to do as this wasn’t an error our end so there’s no reason he shouldn’t be in sale window 2.

    Any advice much appreciated.

    In reply to Tim Glenn:

Like most on this forum, I had my tickets compulsorily cancelled. I received two emails from UEFA on 29th April 2021. The first email said :-

Following the email you recently received from the English Football Association (“The FA”), we are writing to inform you that your tickets for UEFA EURO 2020™ which you purchased via the England Travel Club members scheme will be cancelled.

This decision was taken to ensure that, following the reduction of capacities in the stadia, all tickets sold as part of the PNA Fan Sales programme to the fans of England can be allocated in accordance of the principles and rules of the England Travel Club members scheme.

All ticket buyers will be refunded in full for the face value of the tickets which they purchased via the England Travel Club members scheme.

The second email from UEFA starts with this sentence.

Following the email you recently received from the English Football Association, and our previous email informing you of the cancellation of your tickets, we can confirm the tickets mentioned in the credit note attached have now been cancelled.

If I had voluntarily submitted my tickets for cancellation, for which the deadline was 21st/24th April, then I would have expected an email before 29th April explaining the situation using a different form of words.

Tim, if you received the same emails as me then surely this is cast iron evidence that your son did not request a refund. Also, take a look at your credit note. If this shows a refund for the semi-final and the R16 and/or QF then this demonstrates that tickets to the semi-final were cancelled in the same transaction as the R16 when your son was presumably in the correct ticket sales window.

Tell UEFA or Team England that you can forward these emails with the invoice and credit note as attachments to show both that your son was not unsuccessful in the original ballot and that he did not request a refund.

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: adaptability and focus will be key on the Manaus pitch

I’ve played on some shocking pitches in my time – I remember playing for Chelsea in ‘the battle of Stamford Beach’ against Charlton back in 2003 and the condition of the surface can often play into your favour if you’re the home side. There may be a slight advantage for the South and Central American sides, but for England against Italy it is a level playing field – pardon the pun...

blogs: Tim Vickery: Italy’s tropical trials could lend a hand to England

A few days ago I was on the Rio underground when someone came up to me to give me his World Cup predictions. He recognised me from my appearances on Brazilian TV, and he wanted to tell me that there were two teams that were going to spring a surprise in the World Cup: France, and England. Many in Brazil lost patience with England after South Africa 2010. The feeling over here before that tournament was that England...

blogs: David Stone: Not even the mighty Amazon can hold us back

I've been back in England for a few days now and had the chance to reflect on what was yet another cracking away trip with the Three Lions. The Honduras game, as many predicted, was a very tough affair with the referee offering England limited protection against some rather nasty tackles. The result, while disappointing, did not particularly matter to be honest. It was far more important that England had a good...

blogs: Tim Vickery: Protests vie with World Cup feelgood for centre stage in Brazil

Last Sunday I commentated on the match between Italy and Brazilian club side Fluminense, staged in Volta Redonda, a hundred miles or so outside Rio. The match kicked off at 5.30pm in the afternoon. I arrived at the ground six hours earlier - and already there were plenty of supporters gathering. Many of them were Fluminense fans. Others had Italian affiliations. But lots had come (and at the equivalent of nearly £30...
