interesting they are guaranteeing the 4841 who originally had tickets which is absolutely right, then in round 2 there were 5310 that applied but were unsuccessful - I didn't realise we had so many ESTC members looking at the caps totals

Appreciate a lot of you will be busy trying to sort tickets / access codes etc. However, as i new ESTC member I've got a quick question....

The allocation of 7,358 works out to roughly 16% of the 45,000 capacity... is this usually what is given to each member associations travel club at tournaments (is it different at Uefa Euros and Fifa World cup?) or has this been increased due to Germany potentially not taking their allocation?

Just a bit of a FYI for myself for future tournaments that's all.

    Thanks in advance.

    In reply to David Gray:

It's actually more, we had 4+K/51K for Dublin = < 10%. The travel restrictions and the like have meant UEFA can hand over more tickets. They'd be best off letting the FA have double the 7K actually and just see what sells.
Perhaps not enough time to do all that?

    In reply to David Gray:

At Euro tournaments, UEFA publishes a ticketing brochure giving broad figures. The participating national associations (PNAs) are given 32% of the tickets but this is a total figure over the whole tournament. It doesn't necessarily apply to any one match. It's usually less in the knock out rounds because the number of conditional tickets sold to the PNAs has to be gauged according to the capacity of the smallest ground staging a match in that round. It's also likely that the VIPs, sponsors and corporate big cheeses will get an increased share for the final. Elsewhere on the UEFA site you can find a rough guide to the saleable capacity of each stadium, which is less than the full capacity because of camera positions, security and other operational reasons.

FIFA are less transparent for the World Cup tournaments. I tried looking at the South Africa and Brazil World Cups to see whether I could deduce a pattern. The best formula I could come up with was

8% of tickets x 86% of stadium capacity - 700 for football family.

This formula worked quite well for the group matches at Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod and Kaliningrad but it was inaccurate for other stadiums. The problem is that some stadiums of the same size had significantly different allocations.

You can see that, in principle, we only get half the tickets for World Cups that we get for Euro tournaments.

for us R16 was the only round we booked officially through UEFA public sale as opposed to through ESTC.. our tickets were of course cancelled... but maybe we will get a chance in Phase 3 sales this weekend but not looking likely :( anyone else in this situation too?
