EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Additional Tickets Secured for England v Scotland

We are pleased to announce that we have managed to obtain an additional allocation of tickets from UEFA for England v Scotland which takes place on Friday 18 June 2021.

Due to the short space of time between now and the match taking place, the sale will operate on a first-come-first-served basis to ensure all tickets are sold.

The ballot will be conducted using the 70/20/10% rule, however, more members will be given access to the sale than the number of tickets we have available to ensure that all remaining tickets are purchased.

Those who are successful in the ballot will be sent an access code.

Please be aware that you will only receive an email if you have been successful in this ballot. If you have not received an email by 12 midday on Wednesday 16 June then, unfortunately, you have not been successful in this ballot.

We will communicate the results with members no later than 10am on Wednesday 16 June.

Please be aware this ballot is for Scotland only and an access code is not a guarantee of a ticket.

The sale will run from 1pm on Wednesday 16 June until they are sold out, via UEFA's Ticketing Website.

For more information please read our latest update.

    Brilliant news.

I'm sure a few of us have for ex application group members still clinging onto a slight glimmer of hope and even working out how late they can leave making arrangements before Fridays kick off.

Any idea why the Croatia attendance was 4000 short? Presumably down to UEFA.

Not sure they though about this first time around and assumed all who could buy would buy and left the number short - not the only reasons, as think there were a few but could be part of the answer?

So 131 tickets only but more members than that will be given access codes? So does that mean there will be some extremely diappointed fans who get an email by 10am and think they have a ticket but don't ultimately get one because they weren't fastest finger at 1pm?

They'll be multiple reasons in there. E.g.

Always a drop off between who buys and who turns up in the General Sale. With unforeseen things happening in life.

Same for the corporate with some who have less impetus to turn up I'd think.

Some overseas members (ESTC sale) and non members (UEFA sale) will have been hoping the UK quarantine rules changed. But they didn't meaning they couldn't travel.

And that's assuming all 22.5k? went on sale. The ESTC team obviously tried their hardest to keep improving on their original reallocation so that question has to go to UEFA?

Yep exactly, but I imagine its the only way they can ensure they get rid of all the tickets. If they only send out 131 access codes then inevitably some people wont take up the option to buy a ticket, leaving some unsold.

Inevitable but what other way is there to do it at such short notice?

Each time the ESTC team get more tickets and distribute them fairly members don't take, some of, them up meaning there are tickets left.

Remember this is the third sale of Scotland tickets of residual and some new tickets.

I'd suspect that the ESTC have limited the total amount of members the sale will be open to, calculated on something like the percentage of take up on the previous two sales.

    Good luck anyway.

Fair enough, I suppose. I was thinking they could give the 131 members successful in the ballot maybe 2 hours to buy their tickets and then any unsold could go to other unsuccessful Group 1 members? Maybe too difficult to organise.

Hopefully 150-160, rather than a few thousand. Still, don't know why I am bothered, I won't even get an email knowing my luck!

    In reply to Mark Cope:

Its probably a lot more complicated than we realise, would require UEFA to send back the data on who has bought tickets, how many are left, then ESTC would have to do a 4th ballot - I imagine they just want to get this out the way and focus on Czech tickets

With all due respect to the FA, who I know are constantly working hard and are governed by ticketing rules from UEFA, 131 tickets is nothing to get excited about with the amount of members crying out for a ticket for this game.

I was at Croatia Sunday, and with an attendance of just over 18,000, I ask where on earth were the additional 4,500 people to make up the 25% capacity. I was on the second but back row of the upper tier and was one of two people on my row of 20 or so seats in block 505. There wasn’t a single seat occupied in the row behind. It’s heartbreaking. I fear the 45,000 capacity for the semis and finals will be the same and probably only 37,500 fans in attendance.

Also is there any notice from the UK GVMNT on why the semis and finals can be 50% but not the quarters?

Again, in disbelief at some of the decision making going on. 20,000 at edgbaston last week, no social distancing. yet LESS in a Wembley event, in a larger stadium where we had to be tested prior to entry. Losing the will to live.

Agreed it is a UEFA question really but some hope of getting them to respond! I know less always turn up, but 18%? You would think the overseas buyers would have returned their tickets, especially at the cost.

You would think the overseas buyers would have returned their tickets, especially at the cost.

The UK government did not publish the green, amber and red lists until 7th May, after UEFA had closed the period for returning tickets for a refund. The shortfall in attendance for the Croatia match was very likely due to the absence of overseas ticket holders who have been shafted by the government's quarantine requirements.

If UEFA and the UK government do not get their heads together and arrange a quarantine exemption then the semi-finals and final are going to be played before ridiculously small crowds. Meanwhile, overseas ticket holders will be furious that they have shelled out hundreds of euros but are being prevented from attending.
