EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Potential Semi-final - Wembley

What happens in the event Wembley is at full capacity for the semi-final?

I had tickets which were returned - would I get the option to purchase again?

    Hi Thomas

    Im in same boat.

In short, yes we will get the opportunity to buy tickets, but only after the demand fror Group 1 is fulfilled. Then I assume the same 70% 20% 10% balloting rules will apply based on number of caps.

Personally I think we are unlikey to see full capcity restored, perhaps to 50%, but as it is still a month away anything could happen. Good luck.

    Group 1

    - Members who applied, were successful, purchased their tickets and did not return them**

    Group 2

    - Members who applied, were successful, purchased their tickets and returned them to UEFA
    - Members who applied but were unsuccessful

    Group 3

    - Did not initially purchase group stage matches but purchased KO games
    - All remaining ESTC18-20 members

Its quite simple, for the Semi Finals and the Final. All those who had tickets through the ESTC have the option to buy the exact same category tickets they had originally, but were taken off them. If any of those members dont want them anymore, they would go into a 7/20/10 ballot.

The reduced allocation of ESTC tickets for the group matches were distributed according to which group you were in.

    Group 1
    - Members who applied, were successful, purchased their tickets and did not return them

    Group 2
    - Members who applied, were successful, purchased their tickets and returned them to UEFA
    - Members who applied but were unsuccessful

    Group 3
    - Did not initially purchase group stage matches but purchased KO games
    - All remaining ESTC18-20 members

As there were not sufficient tickets to meet demand from Group 1, the ballots never got down to Group 2.

It seems likely that the same process will apply to the distribution of tickets for the semi-final and final. If these matches are played before full crowds, everyone in Group 1 will get a ticket. But Group 2 includes not only those who had a ticket but voluntarily returned it to UEFA for a refund in April 2021 or earlier but also those who applied for a ticket in 2020 and were unsuccessful. So, if you returned your ticket to UEFA then you might be in a ballot to see whether you can buy it back.

    In reply to David Lilley:

I have a feeling members of ESTC for 20-22 may be in with a shout, if Wembley is allowed full capacity, after all the above categories have had their turn. FA applying to UEFA this week for a 40,000 capacity for knock-out games, regardless of HMG ruling on the 21st. Can't see UEFA turning extra ticket revenue down, in this case.
