EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Croatia fans/tickets.

When I saw that the FA had obtained extra tickets for the Croatia game,I thought oh good another 3,000 going on sale.

Does any one know  if Croatia  have sold their allocation? Will they be allowed to travel....could they have been sold to Croatians living here.

If not wo has got them?

Or have I missed something?

Yes they are on our Amber list....if we visit there we have to quarantine when we get back.

But I can't find the rules for when they visit us.

That's why I am wondering who has their 3,000 tickets

Arrivals from Amber list countries can "Transit" through the UK for less than 48 hours with no quarantine or covid tests on arrival required.

When they say in Transit,do they mean changing planes but staying in the airport?

Not sure how many of the Croatia fans would know this but from what I have been told by the UK government test and trace team You can enter the Uk with no restrictions or tests provided you are not here for more than 48 hrs. What found in the public info on the Govt websites seems to say that you have to be transiting from one port of entry to another but I am going with the advice I got from the test and trade team who advised me that was a trip to my visit my sister for less than 48 hours was fine.

I believe that Italy current just requires a test pre-flight to enter but yes I believe the 48 hr loophole could be used to come back to the UK between the R16 and QF (if both abroad) or to fly back from Italy for the Semi final and go to the game within your 48 hr period in the UK.

Not the 48 hrs is about arriving to the UK not about how long you spend outside... sounds like technically you could arrive in the UK flying out within 48 hrs, jumping on a flight right back and repeat endlessly without doing any quarantine (and only having to do a pre-flight covid test for your arrival to the UK each time) which of course would be crazy but that's the state of the rules right now...

I’d expect a lot of England fans to be in the Croatia end.

(Generalising but...) Would Croatia fans do the honourable thing and return their tickets for face value or know they can sell for £400-500 and make a quick buck

I am in the US so can access stubhub for the tickets. right now the cheapest are 299 Euro for Croatia, 345 for Czech and 745 for Scotland. Seems like that could be where the tickets are ending up for those Croats that cant travel. PS apparently there are around 10k croats living in the UK so getting 3k to Wembley doesn't seem unreasonable?)

It also appears that other nations are not as restrictive as the ESTC and allow the transfer of tickets. So this means their 3k of tickets could have been transferred to friends and family living in the UK or onto secondary re-sale sites. As we know, some were given back to UEFA.

My guess would be 500-1,000 Croatian fans in the ground and 20,000+ England, but only time will tell.

If transiting through the UK from an Amber country:

    https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-safer-air-travel-guidance-for-passengers#transiting-through-the-uk

    • remain within your port of entry until your departure from England, or
    • travel directly from your port of entry to another port of departure in England

Yes thats the advice I found on the Government websites but if you email the contact email address on one of the related pages they specifically told me that for trips to the UK of under 48 hours (Where I told them I am going to be staying at my sister's house so definitely not going from one port directly to another port) there was not any requirement to quarantine or take any tests. dhsctesttrace.customerfeedbackteam@nhs.net
