UEFA EURO 2020

Entry Conditions for Wembley

Has anything been announced yet regarding the entry conditions for Wembley?

I haven't seen anything about the requirement for Covid tests etc. I am expecting it to be the same conditions as for the Riverside with home lateral flow tests being accepted but given that we are only a week away from the tournament starting it would be good to get some clarity.

you don't need to send the swab off , the home test ones which you can pick up from most pharmacies free of charge have a barcode on it which you report the result online at the govt website . You then get a text back within minutes showing you have registered it.

    In reply to Anil Bhan:

Careful, Anil. The test which requires a swab to be posted off, with the result coming back anything up to 3 days later, is the PCR test. Wembley have said that the PCR test is not acceptable. They require a negative lateral flow test.

The lateral flow test is self administered at home. The test takes just a few minutes and the result appears on the test pad on your table in 30 minutes.

The instructions that come with the pack tell you how to do it, including how to administer the test to a child.

They also say how to report the result on the government website. Within moments, you receive back a text to your phone, which is what the stewards at Wembley will want to see.

Does the 3 hour bit on the email from UEFA (below) mean we’re all going to be outside the stadium testing ourselves before we go in?

    Wembley Stadium entry
You must demonstrate you are at a low-risk of transmitting COVID-19. All ticket holders aged 11 or older must show evidence of one of the following to be allowed entry to Wembley Stadium:
For ticket holders based in the UK
Proof of a negative Lateral Flow Test (LFT), reported and demonstrated via a text message or email from NHS Test and Trace. The test needs to be taken within 48 hours of the time stadium gates open (meaning three hours before match kick-off).

You can do the LFT up to 48 hours before the event.

I'll do mine Sunday morning before I leave home.

Croatia kicks off at 2:00 pm on Sunday. So, your test needs to be done any time after 11:00 am on Friday.

Yes, I'm old enough... Two jabs and more than 14 days.

How come if I live in Scotland I can just access a website and in England I have to wait until June 10 to request Covid-19 status on the NHS App?

This process may take up to seven days !!! although on average this is completed in a quicker time frame.

Looks like I might need to do an LFT on Friday, just in case.

Why are they just trialing this stuff now? I thought that's what the Test Events at Wembley were supposed to do.

    In reply to Peter Browne:

Hi, Peter. I was concerned about that warning that it could take up to 7 days to register for the NHS app. I had my NHS number written down somewhere and I had to photograph my photocard driving licence (passport would have been OK too) as part of the registration process. My registration confirmation came through in about 10 minutes.

Your covid-19 status will be on the app straight away. The fact that Wembley want you to do something after 10th June probably means that there will be a new option which will display the status in a particular way. It might be something to do with what the stewards have been trained to see or maybe because this is a test event.

We are currently still in step 3 of the coronavirus Road Map. It is the law of the land that crowds must be limited to 25% of ground capacity or 10,000 whichever is the lesser. But an exception is made if the Secretary of State designates the event as a test event. So, that's what he has done, allowing Wembley to host a 25% crowd without the 10,000 restriction.

It's all good, so far. Download NHS App (not NHS Covid-19 app which is the contact tracing one) and create NHS login, if you have your NHS Number it helps but not essential.

Very happy to see the NHS have my Covid-19 Vaccination record correct. And you can get an offline copy too.

Need to wait until 10 June - before we can select "Attending an event as part of a trial? Use the test service.”

The NHS App, is very useful and linked straight to my GP Surgery records. It really is a National Service now, very good. Looking up my Yellow Fever, Hep A and Typhoid too, memories of Brazil 2014.

I choose to ask to share proof of my status as if I was travelling and that showed you can get a PDF or an offline copy. And I tested both :) You can do it multiple times but clearly need to wait for Thursday for the test event link.

All very simple, for me. Maybe if fans GP systems are not so well linked that might cause the "7 day delay".

I didn't need a photo of passport, so easier than renewing ETSC ;)

If it’s anything like the recent Villa Chelsea game, where I was one of the lucky 10,000 to get a ticket in the ballot - ID checks will be few and far between. We had pictures on our tickets and were told to take ID, they didn’t check either.

With Wembley having almost three times as many on Sunday I’m thinking they won’t have the man power to check every single persons ID, unless that’s their plan with staggered entry times. Has anyone yet found a definitive answer about turning up after your allotted half hour segment? I ‘still’ don’t fancy getting to the ground at 11am Sunday.

    Cheers

So just producing the card before Sunday's match, giving details of the two vaccinations for Covid-19, is no longer sufficient and the details must be shown on the NHS app?
I'm struggling with setting up the app. I confused my National Insurance Number with my NHS Number and got into the section which requires a photograph of ID, such as a passport. Then I found the required NHS Number and want to start the whole rigmarole again because going through the photo process exceeds my computer/smart phone ability.
In spite of going back to the beginning of the procedure, it does not take me into the screen requiring the NHS Number because it jumps some screens which I had already completed. I have disabled the NHS app which had appeared on the screen and it disappeared but I can't get the procedure to go through all the stages which would allow me to put in my NHS Number.
Having spent several hours trying to rectify this problem, I am wondering that if I leave it until tomorrow then perhaps what I have been trying to do tonight will have been erased from its memory and I can then start from scratch and use the NHS Number which I know is correct.
If anyone has succeeded in going back through the setting up of the app to correct any issues which arose, and can offer advice, then I would be grateful.
I just wonder how those without a smart phone can prove they have had the vaccinations. Surely the card which we were issued with would have to be accepted in that situation.
