UEFA EURO 2020

Entry Conditions for Wembley

Has anything been announced yet regarding the entry conditions for Wembley?

I haven't seen anything about the requirement for Covid tests etc. I am expecting it to be the same conditions as for the Riverside with home lateral flow tests being accepted but given that we are only a week away from the tournament starting it would be good to get some clarity.

From the Wembley Stadium entry requirements info link:

"Additional requirements such as a negative COVID-19 test result may be put in place for stadium entry. More details will be available closer to the tournament."

So fans *may* need to have access to a recent negative Covid-19 result on their phone to gain entry to the stadium.

I have just tested myself (using a freely available lateral flow kit), reported it to the NHS site, and received an email back confirming the result. My phone can show the negative result email on request. You will need your 10-digit NHS number to set this up.

If you've not already done this, it's probably worth setting this up now and putting a Covid-19 test thru to check it all works. Then it's ready in good time for the tournament in case a negative test result becomes mandatory.

    Would that include Driving Licence?

    That's my point.

    It's not really explicit enough.

I have the record card as proof of both vaccinations received for Covid-19.
Has it been decided yet that this make a test prior to the match unnecessary?

According to my wife, so I would double check it (sorry Mrs), that unlike when we went to the 'Boro games there is no requirement for a lateral flow test. I was surprised by this but she insists. For those that wern't at the Riverside it was all really straightforward and took seconds. I am pretty surprised that we're being asked to get into the Wembley games 2-3 hours before kick-off. I suspect this is to prevent queues at entrances but it is going to be a trial for me.

The UEFA website has been updated with stadium entry requirements.

    www.uefa.com/.../COVID-19-guidance

The requirements for ticket holders based in the UK are
either (a) a negative lateral flow test taken within 48 hours of the stadium gates opening,
or (b) proof of vaccination - both doses taken at least 14 days before match day

For ticket holders based elsewhere, it's the negative lateral flow test taken within 48 previous hours, as above. A PCR test will not be accepted.

The same UEFA page also repeats that you must show identification : your passport or ID card. There is no mention of a photocard driving licence nor ESTC membership card nor any other form of proof. To be on the safe side, I suggest members take their passports.

There is also another interesting statement on the same webpage.

    Stadium capacity

According to current planning, Wembley Stadium will host a maximum of 22,500 fans for the first two group matches. Capacities for the remaining matches will be confirmed soon.

This would seem to offer the possibility that higher capacities might be permitted for the 3rd group match and the Wembley R16. I just hope the government is not blown off course by the Brothers Grimm (Whitty and Vallance).

I think Brothers Grimm are trying their best to drag the restrictions on for as long as they can! Let's hope they increase the capacity for the last game and on as I only got tickets for Croatia & my mates got nil point.

Could this change of wording and the new double jabbed entry perhaps mean that UEFA and the government are looking at increasing to full capacity at Wembley for games further into the tournament and that being doubled jabbed or 48 hour flow test could make this possible. I just can't see if England get to the semis or final Boris holding us back as he now has the double jabbed and flow test argument to open it up?Here's hoping.

Hi - any ideas on how my unvaccinated 12 year old get a lateral flow test within 48 hours of the match when Bromley Council only test adults?

You can pick them up at any chemist, I've just collected some from Boots.

I did the test and recorded it online and got a text message confirming that it's negative. This is all that is required as an entry requirement but the test needs to be a recent test (I think it's within 24 hours prior to the event but I would double check that yourself). Despite what has been stated earlier on this thread, you don't need your NHS number to register.

I plan to do my test Sunday morning.

may not work - because you need an email test result - which means being reliant on posting the swab off and then hoping you get an email back in time
