EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Looks like it'll have to be QATAR 2022 then

Ok, like everyone else I'm disappointed to have had mine and my sons tickets for the group stages and the follow England semi and final tickets refunded and been unsuccessful in the ballot.I've only got 5 caps and him 11 so understand was unlikely to get tickets. My only hope now is that Boris has a patriotic day when England reach the final and opens it up to the full 90,000, in which case we'll have a good chance of tickets. So given my old age and probably not a huge amount of tournaments left in me, I want to go to a World Cup ( I went to all the games Euro 96 and loved every minute apart for that penalty). So noticed people got tickets through UEFA for these championship  as well as through ETC. I will apply to ETC for our tickets , unsure what the allocation will be a some of the stadiums are 40,000 and if the split of tickets , Corporate/FIFA/Hospitality is anything like the Euros , want to try to give myself the best chance. So, applying through ETC is simple and I know I'll be going to the rest of the home games to get our caps total up, but for those with knowledge , applying through FIFA , do they do a follow your team ticket and when are they likely to be needing to be applied for?

Qatar will probably be your easiest shot at a tourney. There’s a long list of reasons why lots of fans don’t want to go from cost to human rights etc so if you put in a bit of work on the qualifiers you and your son will probably be in with a very good shout of tickets. Even with smaller stadia we will still be doing a lot better than this tournament and there’s a lot less clamour if people have to put in the distance and cost. This will probably the most oversubscribed tournament till we get the World Cup in 2028 (fingers crossed).
If you’re at all worried about not having enough caps I would always suggest trying to buy directly from the associations just on the off chance. The odds are a lot longer than on here though. Applied for a good 7 or 8 games via uefa and got nowt. Fifa used to do a follow your team ticket as do ESTC with their conditional tickets but it’s been a long time since I’ve needed one of those so no idea about 2010 and beyond.
We all started somewhere, am onto 18 years membership now, and the first campaign is always the toughest for tickets but if you get lucky in some ballots it’s easy to climb the ladder.
Best of luck to you. Qatar here we come.

And don't forget Germany in 2024.

Each cap from now on will get you closer to Euro 2024 tickets which will be over subscribed by a huge number.

    Good luck

Yes, FIFA have done a 'follow my team' for previous World Cups.

Like for UEFA Euro 2020, the FIFA World Cup ticket sales process is in 2 phases. The first phase has, for previous tournaments, taken place about a year before the tournament, when the qualified countries are not yet known. This sales phase is open to the general public. The second phase is normally about 6 months before the tournament when the qualified countries are known and the group draw has been made. This sales phase is for the members of each country's official fan club.

The first ticket sales phase includes the option to apply for a 'follow my team' ticket bundle for any country which has not yet been eliminated during the qualification matches. If your team doesn't qualify, you get a refund. If your team does qualify then you follow them through the group matches and the knock outs until they are eliminated. Then, you follow the team that knocked them out and continue on that pathway all the way up to and including the final. (If your team doesn't progress out of the group then you follow the group winner.)

In the second sales phase you don't get a ticket bundle but you apply through the FA for each match individually. So long as your team remains in the competition, you follow them assuming, of course, that you were successful in the ticket ballots. When your team is knocked out, tickets to subsequent rounds become invalid and you get a refund for them after the tournament.

With Qatar 2022 being in November / December instead of the usual June / July, it is not clear how this will affect the scheduling of ticket sales. The European qualifiers will have finished by this coming November, a full year before the tournament.

Sorry, I should have said that there were options. You can have a 'follow my team bundle' which includes
    -  group matches only, or
    -  group matches and R16, or
    -  group matches, R16 and QF, or
    -  group matches, R16, Qf and SF, or
    -  group matches, R16, QF, SF and Final

I joined last period done every home and 1 away and now should find my self in the top 70% for most games as it stands hopefully.
As most have said in the past, do as many hole game’s as you can and you will soon work up the ladder. It’s a lot easier now it’s 2 caps for home games as opposed to the old 1cap.
