EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Shambles!? Who's to blame?

Loads of threads on here and FB blaming the FA and UEFA for low allocations.

Haven't seen anyone blame the government though.  Surely they're the ones have let us down more than anyone!

I'd argue that a dictatorship would be worse, Stephen. A move to a democratic voting system would, I'm sure, improve our failing government and help hold them to account.
It's not in either Labour or Conservative interests though so, like the US, we must live with the pretence that we have a say and our vote counts.

    I'll take that.

I've missed off 'The general public' to the list anyway.

What is slightly ironic is that I spend days and days worth of effort each year on this forum trying to help other members understand what level of 'loyalty' (or caps) might be needed to achieve tickets for matches.

So, for instance, weeks ago 38ish caps was pointed out to be a guarantee tickets.

And now - it's someone else's fault for some members.

Hopefully those pointing the finger at others might knuckle down and put some miles in over the next few years to guarantee Germany 2024 tickets.

And hopefully I'll still be annoying others with my updates.

At the very least they should book early!...(Only teasing Matt)

I agree with you on most things.....I think one of the problems has been this ridiculous idea of playing the Euros in loads of different countries.
Many people here see it as a normal home game...where we get the vast majority of the tickets.. Thus this big shortage has confused some.

Let’s be honest - some of the comments on here prove that a few of the members aren’t the sharpest tools in the box eg being disgusted by the fact they haven’t secured any tickets when they’ve only been to a handful of games. I’m amazed some of them have actually managed to deal with the logistics of attending an overseas match. In fact, perhaps they couldn’t which is why they didn’t secure any tickets in the ballot. Sorry if that sounds patronising........

Seen a lot of people blame the general public sale too. I bought the group games through the uefa general public sale, even though with the original capacity we would’ve been guaranteed ESTC tickets. To me, the more ESTC members that bought general sale tickets, the lower the caps cut off point would’ve been and ultimately more England fans in the ground.

After a 10 year lay off, we started following the team again in 2018. I think most of us accept that the only way to guarantee tickets is going to as many games as possible and I’m just glad that those top cappers who’ve put the most effort in, are able to access tickets.

The only thing about that’s now frustrating me, is that we’ve yet to find out about our tickets as the general sale ballot hasn’t been done. Advance train tickets are now ending, and without them, I’m looking at an extra £70-£100 per game from Cumbria.

Ultimately, the only blame apportioned should be to the bar stewards who caused this pandemic in the first place
