EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Souvenir Tickets

As all tickets through ESTC were going to be delivered by smart phone app, the spring 2020 application process included the option to request souvenir paper tickets which would be delivered to people's registered address after the tournament.

As we are now having all of our tickets cancelled and refunded, any request for souvenir tickets will also be cancelled and the €15 cost will be included in the refund. This is confirmed in the FA News Bulletin. So, when those members who get tickets in the reduced allocation pay for their tickets, will there be an option to request souvenir tickets again ?

For the Nations League in 2019, UEFA offered the option to request souvenir tickets and many England fans planned to take up this option. The souvenir tickets had to be requested at the time of the ticket application but we weren't told this until after applications closed and I'm pretty sure that this option never appeared on the application page of the ticket website. When people pointed out to UEFA that the option had not been on the web page they were told that the orders couldn't subsequently be changed to include this option.

The 2019 experience makes me suppose that we will not have the option to request souvenir tickets under the proposed system for the reduced ticket allocation. This would be a pity as many ESTC members save their tickets in collections. Imagine England getting to the final and we don't have a paper ticket for the collection.

Matt, Well done. I shall try this but have also just raised a dispute via my bank, with supporting evidence. I'd be happy with 2x €15 refunds as I have found they didn't send me my nations league final souvenir ticket.

Update: i did a chargeback about two/three weeks ago and have now had both €15 charges back through my bank. UEFA now have 45 days to query this. As it stands I haven’t paid anything for my souvenirs.

Further Update: I today received three notification emails from UEFA confirming they would be refunding me €15 for one of the two charges for Souvenirs…. This is having already been refunded €30 on my card for chargeback. I’ll wait for them to figure it all out lol

Update from me : received the refunds I was due through over paying for souvenir tickets today. After being refused by UEFA over several emails, a threaten of being reported to trading standards led to a swift issue of the refund.

After twice being refused I raised the issue for a third time and they've finally relented and confirmed they're to refund me. No explanation why it took so long and no reason why my latest request was agreed to. Thanks to those on here who helped, in particular Matthew Isle. Cheers.

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: adaptability and focus will be key on the Manaus pitch

I’ve played on some shocking pitches in my time – I remember playing for Chelsea in ‘the battle of Stamford Beach’ against Charlton back in 2003 and the condition of the surface can often play into your favour if you’re the home side. There may be a slight advantage for the South and Central American sides, but for England against Italy it is a level playing field – pardon the pun...

blogs: Tim Vickery: Italy’s tropical trials could lend a hand to England

A few days ago I was on the Rio underground when someone came up to me to give me his World Cup predictions. He recognised me from my appearances on Brazilian TV, and he wanted to tell me that there were two teams that were going to spring a surprise in the World Cup: France, and England. Many in Brazil lost patience with England after South Africa 2010. The feeling over here before that tournament was that England...

blogs: David Stone: Not even the mighty Amazon can hold us back

I've been back in England for a few days now and had the chance to reflect on what was yet another cracking away trip with the Three Lions. The Honduras game, as many predicted, was a very tough affair with the referee offering England limited protection against some rather nasty tackles. The result, while disappointing, did not particularly matter to be honest. It was far more important that England had a good...

blogs: Tim Vickery: Protests vie with World Cup feelgood for centre stage in Brazil

Last Sunday I commentated on the match between Italy and Brazilian club side Fluminense, staged in Volta Redonda, a hundred miles or so outside Rio. The match kicked off at 5.30pm in the afternoon. I arrived at the ground six hours earlier - and already there were plenty of supporters gathering. Many of them were Fluminense fans. Others had Italian affiliations. But lots had come (and at the equivalent of nearly £30...
