EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Souvenir Tickets

As all tickets through ESTC were going to be delivered by smart phone app, the spring 2020 application process included the option to request souvenir paper tickets which would be delivered to people's registered address after the tournament.

As we are now having all of our tickets cancelled and refunded, any request for souvenir tickets will also be cancelled and the €15 cost will be included in the refund. This is confirmed in the FA News Bulletin. So, when those members who get tickets in the reduced allocation pay for their tickets, will there be an option to request souvenir tickets again ?

For the Nations League in 2019, UEFA offered the option to request souvenir tickets and many England fans planned to take up this option. The souvenir tickets had to be requested at the time of the ticket application but we weren't told this until after applications closed and I'm pretty sure that this option never appeared on the application page of the ticket website. When people pointed out to UEFA that the option had not been on the web page they were told that the orders couldn't subsequently be changed to include this option.

The 2019 experience makes me suppose that we will not have the option to request souvenir tickets under the proposed system for the reduced ticket allocation. This would be a pity as many ESTC members save their tickets in collections. Imagine England getting to the final and we don't have a paper ticket for the collection.

Original thread. I’ll email ESTC and report back on this. I actually think I’d didn’t receive my souvenir tickets for Nations League… did anyone else?

From memory, even though the Nations League blurb said souvenir tickets could be requested, there wasn't an input field on the ticket application form to request them. Maybe that was only for tickets through the ESTC and perhaps you could request them through the general public sale.

If you still have your confirmation email for the Nations League archived somewhere, you can check whether you paid for souvenir tickets.

I feel like I got one for the final David as I sacked the England Swiss game off due to the guimaraes debacle a few days prior. I will check my box of tickets and programmes at weekend and then action from there. Unfortunately I don’t think I kept any correspondence.

I've only just spotted this, below, on instructions on how to purchase tickets.

I bet lots of us have been paying the €15 each round.

If the incredible does happen and we do reach the final Ill still be paying the €15 (split per our group) as wouldn't fully trust UEFA not to mess up.

Hopefully those of us who have already stumped up can get a refund here.

Step 8: You will only be able to select ‘Delivery to mobile phone’ however at this step you can choose to purchase ‘souvenir tickets’.

Please Note: If you have previously selected and paid for a souvenir ticket then you will not need to do this again for any future purchases. At the end of the tournament UEFA will send you a ticket for each match bought under your account

Yes, I'm one of those who has paid €15 for a souvenir game for each game!

For me, that's two group games v. Croatia and Scotland plus Denmark so far!

(The Czech. Republic access code didn't work - they sold out pretty quick for the ballot I was successful in).

Given what Matthew has just written, I can just envisage UEFA sending me three souvenir tickets for each game!

Without reading through the T&Cs and Q&As, just wanting to get a ticket, I just paid the €15 each time!

    Thanks for pointing this out!

Ouch! Well that’s painful. Thankfully I only relented on the semi final ticket and like you will probably do the same for the final should the unthinkable happen just incase.
Would say the odds of getting money back from corruption central are slim to none. That said I reckon if we do end up with multiples of tickets the sale of those on eBay will probably cover any losses.

Wish I had seen this, I paid €15 originally on the cancelled order of 2020. Paid €15 for group games and not done so far. When I emailed ESTC I had a response a couple of days ago saying I need to take the issue up with UEFA. Like you say Matt will be interesting to see if money can be recouped

I actually came on the forum today with exactly souvenir tickets in mind.

I re(paid) the 15 euros for the group stage tickets following the reballot but haven’t done so again for the knock-outs. It seems unfair to me that we’d have to pay 15 euros four or five times get the same set of souvenir tickets that our original single payment of 15 euros secured.

Has there been a definitive answer from UEFA that they will send souvenir tickets for all matches ordered under an account? Or only each booking with a separate payment?

I got an email from UEFA yesterday.

They requested that I checked my address as souvenir tickets are to be sent out from next week (all by the end of August).

I checked the account T&Cs and it clearly said one payment of €15 would cover all souvenir tickets for that account for the whole tournament!

I feel a bit annoyed that I have paid €15 for each game so far - the purchase tickets process made it look like it was €15 each time! Couple that to the fact that this is money hungry UEFA we're dealing with - why make it clear, if we can get applicants to stump up another €15 each time!

Anyone can go to the Wembley Arena / UEFA ticket office on the day and get a printed ticket for free! Other supporters have said that they had phone 'problems' on the day - that's a valid excuse to get a printed ticket!

I had the same message too.

Does anyone know if you get sent multiple souvenir tickets if bought directly via uefa. For example I’ve had some single tickets via ESTC and will get 1. However, where I had 4 Germany tickets via uefa portal will I get 4 stubs

If it is the latter then I’ll have some stubs spare and would be keen to exchange for fans in a similar position for stubs needed.

It's a long shot, but you could visit the UEFA Ticket office at Wembley area on/before Sunday.

They maybe able to retrospectively print out a Denmark ticket?

    It's worth a try!

If you could do it before Sunday that might help, as they will probably be busy printing final tickets!

It'll be interesting to see if the matchday tickets are similar to the souvenir tickets?

    Anyway, good luck!

blogs: Tim Vickery: A World Cup in every sense

Two World Cup Finals are being replayed in this week’s 2014 semi finals. The Germans seek revenge for their 2-0 defeat in 2002 when they meet Brazil – amazingly only the second time these giants have ever met in the tournament. And Holland were the closest – so far – a European team has ever come to winning the World Cup in South America when they hit the post with almost the last kick of normal...

blogs: Sue Smith: England can bounce back

There’s no doubt England can bounce back – the women’s team did it after the 2007 World Cup by going all the way in Euro 2009. Although we lost against Germany in the final of those Euros, there was a sense of achievement and progress...

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: Cool-hand Luke can handle price-tag

Having a hefty price tag can weight heavy on your shoulders – it certainly did for me when I moved back to Chelsea in 1997 for £5.5m. At the time I was the most expensive English defender and there was a lot of pressure that came with that. I found it quite hard and Luke Shaw now finds himself in a similar position after moving to Manchester United for £30m. It does make you look at things differently...

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: It’s time to give England’s players a break

There’s no doubt England’s players will be disappointed with the way things panned out in Brazil, but they deserve a break after the mentally exhausting season they have all had. They’ll feel like they are coming home prematurely because going into these tournaments you always think that you’re good enough to progress, so to lose their first two games and be out of the World Cup this early will...

blogs: John Hemmingham: Fresh faces give us cause for hope

In my years following England I’ve seen some great players come and go – and teams rise and fall. I can say with pride that I saw every game David Beckham played for England and I have also been privileged enough to have seen all of Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard’s appearances. Watching the Costa Rica match it was hard to think that it might be both of their final appearances. I remember Gerrard...
