EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Organisation euro 2020

The culture secretary was on the Andrew marr show this morning , when asked if Wembley will be full come July 11th he said you carnt answer that question. He then went on too say about the importance of social distancing and seeing how the data goes , my point is do you think uefa have left it too late as they are still hell bent on staging it in all 12 country’s if possible. Surely this is now impossible. Why didn’t they just give every country an earlier deadline and if england or the uk was happy to stage it just say best and worst case scenarios ie 100 % 75-50-25-0

Hi Peter - I live in Philadelphia and we are only allowed 8000 at the baseball, 5000 at the football at the moment - its only Texas that has gone a bit crazy and allowing 100% attendance, Hopefully numbers here at sports events will go up as vaccine roll our continues. I just want UK to put US on the green list asap so I can come home and see my family!

Hi David , I cant remember where I saw the report about big crowds at US games. They certainly had some crowds at the golf recently, and there are some at the Masters Im watching right now, but not as many as usual. Hopefully all this will be long history by the time of the world cup in 2026 in the USA ! I went to 6 games along the East Coast in 1994 and loved it. (Boston, New York and Washington). I am hoping to do a similar trip in 2026.

    This from the times:

Surely in the spirit of fairness - Of the 18900 tickets (taking off those allocated for the Jocks) then that more than covers all England Supporters Club members who got tickets either through the travel club, or through UEFA. To allocate in any other way would be grossly unfair. I've got flights, trains and hotels already paid for, just as I imagine a lot of others have too. To be told now you haven't got a ticket would be a massive blow and huge dent to the bank balance

Indeed, plus even the cost and time off needed to even attend matches to get caps in the first place if you're from up north or an ex-pat. Guess we will find out in a few days time.
Don't know why the FA haven't said they can get more fans in for the 3rd game considering it is after when restrictions have eased to normality though.

Thomas its a great thought, and I bet the ETSC would fully support, but not one that Uefa will support. No way will they not give tickets to the Uefa family and sponsors.

    In reply to Peter salnicki:

We are assuming of course that all the tickets will go to PMAs, which isn't necessarily the case. I can imagine that someone who purchased a ticket in the first round of sales (before PMA sales) has just as much right to attend in UEFA's eyes. Therefore if the ticketing is reduced to 1/3 capacity then I'd expect the PMA sales to reduced by that much as well. Again all speculation right now, from UEFA's point of view we are all "fans", regardless of whether you've stood soaked to the bone in Lithuania.
If this is how it will be played out then ETSC may only receive about 6-8K allocation at Wembley, the away team around 1K and the rest divided up with each sale period.

Scotland look like being allocated 3,600. I would expect the same amount to be allocated to the The FA. If this is the case then I would expect the FA to allocate on the 70/30 rule based on the caps numbers during the previous campaign.

    In reply to Peter Sherwood:

Technically as it’s a tournament game I don’t think home and away allocations hold any weight so in theory both fan groups would be the same. That said only Scotland are even likely to take up that sort of allocation so against Croatia and the Czechs it may end up we get slightly more. But for Scotland exepect about 4K per supporters group and the remaining 13k to sponsors and happy clapping day trippers. Like you say UEFA will not differentiate and while we will almost certainly still get a percentage of the tickets available in line with beforehand it will be reduced to match the capacity like you say.

The F.A need to fight the government and EUFA to get ESTC members into Wembley for the euro's.
How can Russia have 50% of the St Petersburg stadium (34,000) yet we only have 25% (22,500),especially as our vaccination programme is better than Russia's SPUTNIK V take up.

What the hell is going on?

All legal limits on everything to be dropped on 21st June they said so is this even an issue. Full crowds they should have from then onwards (but clearly they don’t want that for some reason) and before that surely we can have way more than 21,000 in a 90,000 capacity stadium. Whole thing is shocking - might as well hide under the stairs the rest of our lives.

Very true Alex, Reading Festival is running at full capacity, Notting Hill Carnival is still running as usual but no football fans still have to suffer with a rubbish percentage of fans allowed in despite restrictions being lifted.
