EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Organisation euro 2020

The culture secretary was on the Andrew marr show this morning , when asked if Wembley will be full come July 11th he said you carnt answer that question. He then went on too say about the importance of social distancing and seeing how the data goes , my point is do you think uefa have left it too late as they are still hell bent on staging it in all 12 country’s if possible. Surely this is now impossible. Why didn’t they just give every country an earlier deadline and if england or the uk was happy to stage it just say best and worst case scenarios ie 100 % 75-50-25-0

Completely agree, however I can’t help but think these event organisers have interpreted the rules as they see fit in a bid to flog as many tickets as possible.

In the governments road map, this is in the section for Step 4, from June 21st onwards.

“ The same Events Research Programme will guide decisions on whether all limits can be removed on weddings and other life events.” Can only assume this covers all mass events, be it football matches, gigs, festivals etc

People need to remember that tickets have been assigned a dedicated 30 minute entry time slot

Fully agree Kevin, and I read that lots of others agree with your comments. The wording on the Uefa website says "minimum 25% Wembley", but no mention of it again, unlike the "25-33%" for some other countries who are "reporting back at the end of April to see if can allow more". Do we think its a case for getting this raised with the FA / Government now to press them for a bigger capacity?
Im sure that the ESTC are doing their best and fighting the fans corner as always . But how can we help and play our part ?

    In reply to Peter salnicki:

Definitely needs raising to the Fa and gov, particularly for the 3rd group game which will be after the 'as close to normal as possible' final step of reducing restrictions. Surely that means all with a ticket who want to attend can do, not some random 25% capacity plucked out of thin air. As an NHS keyworker who has worked through, had Covid, both vaccines, test myself twice weekly I'll be furious if I can't attend due to some 'computer says no' idiocy. Feels like the people making this decision are terrified of a spike due to the games. But somehow a few weeks later for the latter stages it'll all be fine. The people have decided if they want to attend and weigh up that risk. It should be upto us as ticket holders, not some decision maker who has no doubt worked from home all the way through.
