Will tickets  still be valid  for next year if cancelled  this  year

    UEFA does actually have a ticket refund policy although it is remarkably difficult to find. Typical UEFA ! I haven't been able to find it but I have found the refund policy for various one-off matches such as the Europa League final and also for the Euro 2020 hospitality package. They all say the same thing so I assume it would also apply to the Euro 2020 fan tickets.

    The policy defines Force Majeure events, i.e. events outside the control of UEFA, and the definition includes an epidemic. Where a fixture is postponed because of Force Majeure, the ticket remains valid for the rearranged match but the ticket holder is not entitled to the alternative of a refund even if he can't attend the rearranged match.

    Where a match is postponed for a reason other than Force Majeure, meaning something within the control of UEFA, the ticket is valid for the rearranged match but there is also the alternative of a refund. 

    Postponing the entire tournament for a year is surely beyond anything which those who drafted the rules could have envisaged. It is to be hoped that UEFA does not enforce a 'no refund' rule in these circumstances but who knows.

    Interesting question especially for those tickets through the ESTC membership.

    I wonder if there would have to be a few caveats?

    E.g.

    What if the ticket holder was no longer an ESTC member i.e. hadn't renewed?

    What if a group member had had their ESTC membership revoked?

    Lets, for all our sakes, hope that the meeting on Tuesday decides, against all odds, that the Euros should proceed.

    I was thinking the same matthew i bet a fair few cant make it next year as some might have family holidays already booked once a new date is announced how many people will hold back in booking travel and hotels next time round after being alot of money out pocket

    The Euros are dead in the water. All the football associations around Europe want their domestic competitions to be completed and this could only be done if the season were extended. (I don't think for one moment that fixtures will resume on 3rd April.) There is so much money in the Premier League and the Champions League that there would be law suits if the season were ended early, no matter what system was used to allocate promotion, relegation and European qualifying places for next year. It's similar in other countries.

    I am just hoping that the Nations League fixtures in the autumn can proceed as scheduled.

    The peak of the coronavirus pandemic should be over before then. The problem is that, once restrictions are lifted, the disease could flare up again as badly, if not worse, than the first time. This is the typical scenario with previous pandemics. The only medical solution is to achieve 'herd immunity' but, for this to happen, it requires either the majority of the population to catch the disease or a vaccine to be widely available. All that the restrictions can do is to slow the progress of the disease and spread out the infections over time so that the peak is lower and the health services are not overwhelmed, as has happened in Italy.

    There are scientific sources in both China and America saying that effective vaccines have been developed. I don't know how long testing and licencing would take.

    Wonder if there’s a possibility if they do re schedule it to next year they might consider just having it in 1 country to make it easier if this flares up again

    A huge precedent is being set. Travel and travel insurance will never be quite the same again.

    Hopefully, Euro 2020 will just be moved back to the summer of 2021 and will retain its existing format and venues. If that means sacrificing the Nations League then so be it, but that can always be restaged after the 2022 World Cup.

    Your right that clubs rule countries, definitely in Europe anyway. So you would believe that uefa will bow to their demands first.
    Pushing back Euro 2020 to 2021 seems a reasonable option, especially as the world cup in 2022 is now in the Winter.
    As for tickets ? Uefa surely wont want the time and hassle of any new ballots. Ditto the England Travel team. In these extreme circumstances it would seem only right that the Travel Club membership would be held over for that extea 12 months, or at least honour the tickets already allocated and paid for.

    I think there is grounds for saying it isn't.

    Personally, I'd want a refund on the tickets I paid to watch a tournament that was happening this summer.

    God knows what the decision and options will be and when these would be put into action but the €v£ has moved 8% since I paid.

    That would be around an extra £100 on our order.

    I was due to run edingburgh marathon in may theyv now sent a email to say its put back until september but at minute theres no refund option you can only transfer you place to another runner i think that will change it will cause uproar at £60 a person to enter

    Managed a local 10k race yesterday in a PB time of 40.27 so it payd of in that sense just a matter of keeping the training going if were not in lockdown by then
