EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Reply to St Petersburg visa question

I received this reply today from the Fan ID centre:

If you have Follow My Team tickets (conditional tickets) for the UEFA EURO 2020тм quarter-final match, which will be held at the Saint Petersburg stadium (Russian Federation) on 3 July 2020, you will be able to apply for a FAN ID during the round of 16, only after receiving a notification from UEFA that your team has qualified for the next round of the tournament and your ticket(s) has(have) become valid.

The foreign citizens who hold tickets that have become valid and use their FAN IDs to enter the Russian Federation without a visa will be able to enter and leave the Russian Federation using their FAN ID electronic forms and identity documents recognised as such by the Russian Federation (Passport).

The PDF file with personal data and a photo of the spectator sent to the email specified by the spectator when applying for the FAN ID serves as the confirmation of the FAN ID electronic form. The PDF file must be printed on A4 paper and carried with you when traveling to Russia.

The FAN ID electronic form is designed only for visa-free entry into and exit from Russia and does not grant access to the stadium. To access the stadium, you must obtain a FAN ID on a laminated card. During the UEFA EURO 2020тм matches, a sufficient number of the FAN ID Distribution Centres will be operating, including near the Saint Petersburg stadium, where you can quickly get your FAN ID.

Entry to the Russian Federation using the FAN ID and the identity document recognised as such by the Russian Federation (Passport) is possible from 00:00 on 30 May 2020 to 23:59 on 3 July 2020 (local time of arrival in Russia).

Departure from the Russian Federation is possible from 00:00 hours on 30 May 2020 to 23:59 on 13 July 2020 (local time of departure from Russia).

I tried to add it to the other thread but for some reason it wouldn’t accept the text, hence why I put as a new topic. It makes things a bit clearer, but does not answer the question about exact timings in the period between the R16 and QF matches.

Yep got the same response from fan id support.
If we are going there then, yes, the timings now depend on how long UEFA will make the tickets unconditional and the Russian authorities incorporating it into the fan id application. So if you are not at home, hopefully, wherever you are in Europe, you will be able to print off the pdf before you board the plane for St Petersburg.

I got the same reply. I have sent a supplementary question asking how long it would take for them to issue the email with the electronic Fan-ID link. If I get an answer, I will post it.

The Fan-ID Help Desk has replied to my supplementary question. I explained that I would need the electronic Fan-ID by early on the Wednesday morning before the Friday match.

You have enough time to apply for a FAN ID and get it. The decision on a FAN ID application will be made within a few minutes during UEFA EURO 2020. After approval of your FAN ID application, you will receive a FAN ID in electronic form to your e-mail

    Thank you.
So now the question is how long will it take UEFA to turn conditional tickets to unconditional after the result of a match?

So now the question is how long will it take UEFA to turn conditional tickets to unconditional after the result of a match?

I put this question to the UEFA Euro 2020 Help Desk yesterday and they have come back with an answer today. They say that the status of the ticket will be changed to unconditional "in a few hours". I take this to mean that when we wake up on Tuesday morning after a win in the Monday night match in Copenhagen, the ticket status would have been changed.

Taken with the answer from the Fan-ID Help Desk, we ought to be able to receive the email with the link to the electronic Fan-ID some time on the Tuesday.

Even though we know that a Fan-ID application would be rejected at this stage, it is still worthwhile submitting an application before the tournament because it will enable us to get a photo approved. This photo can then be stored for use if and when a successful application is submitted after the Copenhagen match.

I did this using my picture from the World Cup Fan ID and it still seemed to work, so to save any further issues I’ll be using that same picture again.

    From the Fan-ID FAQs

The photo should be taken not more than six months before the filing date of the application.

I've just found my own Fan-ID picture from the World Cup on my laptop. I right-clicked the file then selected 'Properties'. The Properties screen stated that the image was created on 15th March 2018. It's very unlikely that the Russian software that vets 2020 Fan-ID applications will check the file properties of the uploaded photo. Nevertheless, I'm not going to risk it. I'm getting a new picture.

I’ve tried my picture on the fan ID registration process and it was fine . Although I didn’t go any further with the registration. Do you register now ! Or do you do it after our ticket ticket if we make the q/f in St Petersburg becomes unconditional, I would of liked too have carried on with the registration to familiarise myself with the registration for quickness in the need for us to do it after the last 16 game

Surely you can overcome this by selecting Save as then renaming it to say David2020 ? Then when you go to properties the creation date will be today? I don't think for a minute that they will check to that extent though
